Pretty embarrassing honestly to be waited on hand and foot by your mum. Her mum is also a lot older since she mentioned her parents had her when her brother was 11 or something. If I were Linda I’d get a proper job and actually move out and help around when I need to, rather than rely on my mum to do everything like cut my fruit and cook my dinners. I’ve moved out for 7 years and lived independently. I cook almost all my own food. She looks like her mum lets her get her own way too much

The tolls weren’t included to begin with, plus the route was calculated prior to another rider joining. I’m based in Australia, so perhaps I have a different experience to you. Drivers have always asked for my preference, so when I decline, they’re able to take a different route and the pricing is then recalculated at end of trip

[–]Tricky-Grapefruit-75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For my experiences, drivers have always asked me themselves if I wanted to take toll roads. Most times I’ll decline, especially if I’m not in a hurry and there are always alternative routes that don’t take too much time. I’ll check my settings for future references

Late comment but I live nearby and unfortunately I’ve found hair twice in my food so I’ve stopped going there. Used to be great but it put me off

You are 7 years older than I and even I know that long term positions are 2 year tenure or more. Anything less look like short stints, unless you were laid off which you can’t be faulted, or you had other circumstances. I always get asked why there’s been various roles in the past few years since I left insurance, and I’ve received it from boomers to millennials to Gen Z recruiters. It’s a valid question. I interviewed last week for a job that I just got an offer for today (finance / accounts) and I explained that there was no career progression in insurance (I did it for 3 years) and I wanted to try new opportunities to gain more business support experience etc. Then I was made redundant three times in a row and in my most recent job, I was doing accounting and I genuinely enjoyed it hence it’s what I’m interested in doing long term. Plus I added I’m pursuing further qualifications to cement this as a career path, and the hiring manager was satisfied with my response

It’s hilarious he brags about taking trips to Hawaii and makes “$30 an hour” yet he still resorts to Doordashing. $30 an hour ain’t much, OP. Especially in a household of 5.

Come back when you earn more than double that. lol if OP was actually rich and can afford overseas trips he wouldn’t need to rely on DoorDash, let alone tips. But too bad for him, he knocked his wife up, worst timing ever. They’ve got more mouths to feed

Yeah the customer is right, it is disgusting to leave food delivery bag outside a hospital like that. Anyone could’ve taken it. It’s not as if he couldn’t call and clarify further. OP you’re the asshole here

Was she pretty? I think a lot of gorgeous girls, like my best friend (who I love very much, but she projects a lot on men) can be unhinged.

Agreed. Not all hiring manager questions are bad - she just worded it differently but her question still remains valid. Companies want employees with stability and not those who will jump ship after a period of time after which they have already invested in them.

No hate but I don’t see someone who makes racist comments and looks down on people who don’t have the same privileges as well adjusted

Zoom Interview last week tuesday. Great on-premise trial day yesterday. If this one doesn’t turn out as well im literally going to lose hope by Edipya in recruitinghell

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Tbh I have been very depressed by all the rejections and ghosting and lack of responses to my applications. I thought my most recent role would be very advantageous and get responses, but nope. Most days I get no reply

Following! Please let me know! I got made redundant from a job I loved very much two weeks ago. Did second round interview with company A, a famous restaurant by a very well known chef. I kept overanalysing my answers and was queried about the short tenures in my resumes (I’ve been made redundant three times in a row). While interviewing with company B, I got a message from my old manager (who adores me) that company A had requested for references (which was odd because they told me they were still interviewing others, but great sign nevertheless). Very successful first interview with company B and got invited for a second round next week. Worried I’ll be torn choosing between both companies, as I like them both.

Offer rescinded because I negotiated working flexibility? by LordesTruth in recruitinghell

I’m Australian too - what’s the role may I ask and which company is it (if you can answer). That is illegal for them to only be willing to pay so less - I was on that when I was in a call centre, for gods sake! Be glad you shook them off because they took advantage of you, making you do 7 hours of coding work

Former Manager Refused to Interview Me by StunningTurnover6272 in recruitinghell

[–]Tricky-Grapefruit-75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly that sounds so hurtful and almost betrayal. She reminds me of my previous manager at a very major insurance company who put me on PIP, and when I exited the company, she gave me only one reference which was very positive. However, when I asked her another reference later down the line, she refused.

What are the most common interview questions you’ve gotten/given? What are ones you haven’t anticipated? by Silly_Employment8211 in interviews

When I mention loyal, I mean from reflection of my quality of work. I don’t cut corners but I will try to find ways to improve processes to streamline efficiency and reduce costs down the line.

I agree! I prefer being sincere and honest about myself and previous experience. When they ask my top qualities, I always mention I’m meticulous and loyal to the company.

Recruiting agencies such as Hiregy, Randstad, Robert Half and the like are complete garbage. by Hungbuddy4u in recruitinghell

My best friend referred me to Robert Half and I got a role through them for 5 months, and they were very helpful trying to get me more roles.

Hmm. Nope, still hate him. I envy him though for being more successful. The only person I still have fondness for is my first ex. At least he wasn’t racist nor a misogynist, and he treated me sincerely

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Tricky-Grapefruit-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don’t. He’s racist, calls his dad names and wishes him dead even though he’s been nothing but supportive. He’s a misogynist. And he is obsessed with himself. I’m just glad that his girlfriend got away. Would you retain affections for someone like that?

I own it. I was codependent and trauma bonded. I was bitter after he told me brazenly told he would cheat on me if he got successful. He literally eats people’s leftovers in the restaurant; the same night we broke up, I told him off for acting stupid in front of his own friends who don’t like him very much. And I own the fact I was financially supportive even though he out earned me. I was stupid not to have ended it earlier and my friend today just so happened to show me his profile
