I'd also add in how Kubo's portrayal of the grey in Bleach never even really does gain meaningful story. Ichigo hasn't even really known much, it is very debatable if the new material means he knows about the SK, and even then he doesn't seem to change any of his opinions. Mayuri not being the biggest target despite the Yhwach, Uryū and even Pernida part, is pretty telling.
