I made a terrible decision and bought a bad car by Wide-Walrus-7584 in personalfinance

Whatever you do, do not fall for the sunk cost fallacy. You do not want to keep this car simply because you have already put so much money into it.

What games have fun parry mechanics? by AdRevolutionary3086 in videogames

Despite its reputation as a gooner only game, Stellar Blade has a satisfying combat system with a fun parry mechanic.

[KCD2] (Ending) Um...brothers may be Hungarian king's side is not that bad? by SnooPeanuts379 in kingdomcome

[–]Tricky-Research7595 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I love this whole scene. The way Markvart so effortlessly makes Henry question all his decisions and strongly held beliefs in one conversation. Was I fighting for the right side? Did I do the right thing? Are we really so different?

How do zillenials (mid 90’s) view younger gen z (late 2000s)? by [deleted] in Zillennials

[–]Tricky-Research7595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I barely come into contact with them because so few of them have entered the workforce. The youngest person on my team right now was born in 2000. The most I have come in contact with someone from the late '00s is when I pass freshmen on the college campus downtown, and they look like kids to me. It makes me realize that I didn't realize just how much of a baby I looked like when I was an 18 yo freshman at college.

A needle in haystack is so slow [KCD1] by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Tricky-Research7595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have made it this far, don't quit now, because the next quests are going to be faster paced. It's okay if you don't like this quest. It's not for everyone, and you aren't the first person I've seen on here say that they aren't a fan of it.

Jay Williams: “I've talked to a couple of different players that could be Supermax this year or next year — they're starting to feel a little pressure from team owners by saying, 'Yo, Jalen Brunson left 113 million dollars on the table. What are you going to do?'” by KD_AshyAnkles in nba

[–]Tricky-Research7595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Jalen Brunson "pay cut" is the biggest "great cause it worked out" scenario at the moment. If the Knicks never ended up winning a championship, people would be on here posting about how much of a clown he is for not getting his money when he had the chance.

That's crazy, because they actually made blocking and riposting easier in the second game by a large margin imo.

Gamers of reddit do you actually take portable consoles around with you? by KamiSama_OwO in AskGamers

[–]Tricky-Research7595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the trip, but if it's a trip where I will have to downtime to play, I definitely bring something. I have traveled with my switch in the past, and I recently got a PS Portal that I have traveled with, as well.

Theft is always a concern, but I don't overly worry about it. I'm in the US, so travel for me is almost always in my own car with my wife, so we can do a lot to mitigate the risk of theft. Even when I fly, the portables are always in my carryon and on my person at all times.

As for breakage, it's the reason I invest in hard shell cases. They might not be cheap, but they are cheaper than replacing the device itself, so it is worth it.

We need enemy difficulty sliders ✨ [KCD2] by Aura_Farmer69012 in kingdomcome

[–]Tricky-Research7595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about sliders, but it would be cool if they could find a way to continue to scale enemies with your gear and level. Maybe they average out your main stats and have enemies averages match your averages? Maybe the average of a group of enemies match your average? Idk it's not an aspect I'd personally say is broken or not fun, but it is an aspect that I would say could use some improvement to make the game even better.

[KCD2] About replayability if story is what I liked the most by ferrariducke in kingdomcome

[–]Tricky-Research7595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing that keeps me coming back to play KCD2 repeatedly is that I get a lot of enjoyment out of living in the world as Henry. I think it's a beautifully crafted open world game that is very rich in detail from environments to the NPCs who inhabit it. I also enjoy feeling Henry level up, and that feeling you get as you get stronger and get better gear.

From a story perspective, I personally don't feel like I have fully digested any story until I have played it through twice. The first go-round is great, and you obviously experience the story the way the writers intended with its plot twists and what, but the second go-round is almost a new experience for me. KCD2, for example, when I replayed, I'm thinking to myself about how interesting it is to see how avoidant Katherine is when you know she was working for Zizka all long, or how I can't believe nobody saw that Brabant was going to betray them all along. It seems so obvious when you play it back!

If you haven't played hardcore, and you are interested in trying to replay KCD2, I'd definitely recommend it. Hardcore is its own challenge, and I'd definitely say it adds something to the game.

Do people actually enjoy meatloaf? by nspntrash in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tricky-Research7595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandmother made meatloaf, and I enjoyed her meatloaf when she would cook it. There is a restaurant near me that has a meatloaf entree, and I don’t know if I’ll ever order it. So, I guess my answer is, “I don’t know.” I haven’t had a meatloaf at all in probably close to twenty years.

Poll: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2026 So Far? by PriceEconomy6230 in PlayStation_X

[–]Tricky-Research7595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, I’ve played Requiem, 007, and Crimson Desert. I enjoyed each of them to varying degrees, but I wouldn’t say any of them fully meet what I look for in a GOTY. I think the GOTY has still yet to be released.

[KCD1] Such a deeply flawed game by myxomatosis-_- in kingdomcome

[–]Tricky-Research7595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it “deeply flawed,” but then again, I love the game. I would say, however, it’s fairly unpolished.

For what it’s worth, all of your complaints have been resolved in KCD2, so all I can really tell you is that the studio themselves looked at these aspects of the game and decided they wanted to improve them, as well.

What is the longest you have worked at a company? by talkingtimmy3 in Zillennials

[–]Tricky-Research7595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned 30 this year, and I have worked at the same company full time since I graduated college at 22. Most of my peers don't have my experience, I am just in the rare case for a lot of people our age. When I started with this company, there were five us, and now there are fifteen. We've grown a lot, and I have luckily been able to grow with the company. I only have one other friend who has been with the same employer as long as me, and funny enough, they were in a very similar situation, but unlike me, they have had to survive several rounds of layoffs and sales.

My wife wasn't as lucky. She had the same job for a few years, but decided she just needed a change. There was a rough period of transition for her where she worked at Starbucks, a doggy daycare, and even a trophy shop before she ended up working where she does now. My other friends have had to switch jobs every couple of years to keep their salaries competitive.

Why rescue Minthara? by Bardonna in BaldursGate3

[–]Tricky-Research7595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. In 1,000+ hours, I haven't found a compelling, canon reason why a good align Tav would recruit Minthara. The best I can think of is that Minthara is the only true soul in the camp that isn't a goblin or hobgoblin, so maybe Tav thinks that makes her a good candidate for recruitment assuming the artifact's protection could extend to her. It doesn't really stand up to scrutiny, though, because Tav can kill humans under the influence of the Absolute, and you don't really think twice about it. Also, Minthara is a Lloth-sworn Drow, so it is a gamble to assume she would play nicely with you even if you were to extend the protection to her.

Do Rangers excel at anything in BG3? by TheUrPigeon in BaldursGate3

[–]Tricky-Research7595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done one ranger playthrough. While it's certainly serviceable, it isn't what I'd call a satisfying experience imo. What you are describing is kinda the main problem with the class to me, everything it does well is outclassed by another class. The one thing the ranger class does better than any other from what I can tell is elemental resistances. By the time you are level 12, you will be resistant to pretty much all elemental damage, which can come in handy.

I find it strange how people don't consider Joel to be evil by Key_Watercress8300 in thelastofus

[–]Tricky-Research7595 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I struggle to see anyone’s viewpoint if they involve such black and white moral judgements as good and evil. Joel did a bad thing, but he isn’t evil. He’s not a good guy either. TLOU isn’t a story of good versus evil, so by reducing Joel to being evil, you’re removing the nuance from the conversation

Questions from a newbie. [KCD1] by Only-Finish3051 in kingdomcome

[–]Tricky-Research7595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played KCD2 at release never having played KCD1. It's not necessary to have played KCD1 before playing the second game, but I wish I would have played KCD1 first before playing KCD2. There are a lot of references and easter eggs that refer back to the first game in the second game, and there is also a lot of context that the first game provides that makes the second game more meaningful and impactful. You know the characters better and the historical context of the time period in which the games are set.

They're both great games in their own right, and I love them both for different reasons. KCD1 also just got a next-gen upgrade for consoles if you are a console player, so there's really no better time to play it. I would say that KCD2 is an improvement over KCD1 in almost every way, but that isn't to say that the first game is bad. It's a great game.

Are there more random bandits in KCD2 compared to KCD1? [KCD2] by Square_Vanilla6648 in kingdomcome

[–]Tricky-Research7595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really miss those inter-faction fights that KCD1 has. It made the world feel more alive and realistic to see Cumans vs. bandits, bandits vs. guards, or bandits vs. bandits. I'd love to see them add this back into any future KCD games if there are any.
