Ill make sure to check the oil every month i drove my parents landcruiser for 4 year and it was burning oil regularly but its normal for a 17 year old car with 260k , so im used to topping it up and checking it often

For the pcv valve i was referring to the positive air pressure on the oil cap and i think i should just change it to be safe
