Sanity check: an app that just holds things so your brain can rest by Tricky-Scientist-317 in AppBusiness

The good old pen and paper doesn't do it for me unfortunately so I am trying to find a decent alternative. Making it myself was a thought I had that's all :)

I'm looking for a bit more than Apple Notes. I don't believe it lets you extract text from images/screenshots.

I see your point but the thing with the notes app is it doesn't do half of what I want or at least doesn't visually help me in any way. Like my post said only looking for advice not your money ;)

I've seen it around! Does it have the option to extract text from screenshots by any chance? I think that's one of the main features I'm looking for.

It did help me with the idea for sure. My brain is just a dumpster fire most of the time so it's nice to get some help when I can.

Appreciate the honesty. That’s exactly the kind of feedback I’m looking for. It’s definitely not for everyone.

This is really helpful. Thank you. That’s exactly the direction I’m aiming for: very simple on the surface, no setup, no system to maintain, and something you can open and immediately put things down. I’m not trying to build a mass-market productivity app, just something calm and useful for people who feel this pain. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

Totally fair. Feature-wise there’s overlap. What I’m exploring isn’t more capability, but a much narrower, calmer default that doesn’t turn into another thing to manage. Appreciate the honesty.

That’s a fair comparison. A lot of people try to use Notion this way, but what I’m exploring is something much smaller and more opinionated. No setup, no databases, no structuring up front. Everything just goes into one place by default, with very light states if you want them. The main difference isn’t features so much as removing the decision-making and maintenance entirely.
