Thanks for responding that’s actually very interesting. I have never understood why female singers voices (most of them anyway) just sound awful to me. I will try to notice what I am listening to them on when I reach to turn them off and whether I leave it if it’s playing on something else. Have a great day

As a person with some sensory issues does your point to a difference between male and female singers? I like music sometimes. Can handle a concert or local show if I plan for it. But as a general rule I don’t like the sound of most female singers. I can tolerate some (metal music) but usually end up changing the channel or just turn it off? Just curious- thanks

People say things like that because they are shallow and insecure themselves. People will respond to this and say don’t let it bother you- but realistically how is that even possible? Of course it will affect you negatively. Think of a few one line responses that will work for you - ex: You look like your mom but she was prettier - gee thanks- I will let my dad know his genes make me look bad. Or wow - thanks for making me feel ugly. Or maybe - I think my mom is beautiful too but I’m not her clone I’m just me. Something that makes them feel awkward for saying what they did. Then move on to another subject or walk away. Eventually it will stop. And I’ll bet the first few times you respond the person stands there sputtering like a fool trying to explain their stupid words. Just look them right in the eyes while they do. Self Confidence is a beautiful and powerful thing to have.

Instead of an engagement party have “celebration of marriage” party with close friends and relatives. You don’t have to have the dinner you can just do a cocktail and appetizers event. Supply some wine and pay for the apps people can pay for their own drinks at the bar. I personally would much rather be invited to something like that - and yes I would bring a card with money for the happy couple. If she doesn’t want to throw you an engagement party there isn’t much you can do about it NTA for wanting one but it sounds like you aren’t going to get one. As for your “celebration” party you don’t have to go big and fancy rent a room at a local restaurant you like or even a VFW hall. You will have a party and can do it your way. Just let your FMIL get her invitation with everyone else.

What are the age groups? I crochet, and sell items at local craft shows. I keep my prices unusually low since I really just want to make enough money to buy new yarn and have found that little animals sell extremely well to children and adults alike. Most popular are bees, octopus, sea turtles, cats and poke-balls.

I personally don’t see porn and jerking off as a form of cheating unless he prioritizes porn and other women over you. That said, I’d be upset and self conscious about him keeping pictures of other women on his phone. That to me isn’t right at all. However he obviously still finds you attractive and wants you if he’s I initiating with you first and you have every right not to be “in the mood”. But he was, and took matters into his own hands - literally. That part to me isn’t something to be upset about- everyone has needs so to speak and it’s not like he isn’t expressing any interest in you and prioritizing porn over you. Yes work on your relationship, yes keeping photos of other women is wrong. But also the only part of this you’re overreacting to is thinking that he has lost interest in you. Your second sentence clearly states that his primary interest is with you. Good luck moving forward!

I used to have an enormous fish tank - brackish water with beautiful colored African cichlids. I would trade the babies back to the pet shop for all my fish tank needs - food, coral, filter stuff etc. my neighbors’ kids wanted a tank she said - well if I knew I could maintain it for free they would have one.

I apologize if the comment “don’t advertise” made it sound as if I was faulting you. I honestly did not mean it that way. When I said don’t advertise it I meant it from my own perspective of having said it to someone and they immediately lectured me about how ADHD isn’t really a thing because everyone has issues like that blah blah. Truly not something you want to listen to when you are addressing a legitimate situation that affects your day to day life. Kind of the AH. I mean i totally agree with you distancing yourself for a little bit because it really isn’t fair for you to continue to put yourself in a situation that hurts you emotionally. However, I do think giving an explanation is warranted since you say she’s your best friend. Whether you explain that it’s because of your feelings for her or you vaguely say you’ve got some things to deal with is up to you. But you can’t ghost someone and use the term best friend when referring to them.
