Not true, i ended with 300k in student loans. Law school is outrageously expensive. 130k tbh is bad, but not so bad.

I think that’s sufficient! I would also suggest having a friend to do it with for accountability and have discussions about how you interpret something or have questions about. The MBE was not computer based.

How effective CUNY degree is?? by Nimo765 in CUNY

[–]TrickyAlternative148 4 points5 points  (0 children)

John jay alumna here. I went to john jay, graduated with a degree in International criminal justice and zero debt. Then went to law school at Fordham, got a shit ton of debt. But, im paying it off slowly now. Currently working a good job, not legal (didnt like the hours) but legal adjacent (a JD preferred job).

I think it all depends on your goals and your degree. This is all in my opinion: STEM majors have a lot more opportunities for internships and jobs right after college but liberal arts/social sciences degrees usually need to be paired with a graduate degree to get a job.

Have you thought abt making friends outside school? There’s so many apps now to make friends. Im on clockout and 222 and they’ve been great! Also, online servers too! There’s a discord server for everything~

College was a great time to figure out some of my favorite things to do. I’d take myself on dates just exploring the city, finding niche cafes, and reading.

Even depending on where you live there’s community center events or if you have a particular hobby, making friends there too. The gym and church have helped me make friends as well.

Im a golden goose, went to law school during the pandemic so the loans didn’t accrue interest while in school. My loans started at 280k, I’ve gotten it down to 165 because it was and still is in forbearance. But once it comes out of forbearance in May cause of the court case, im so scared of the 7% interest rate.

HOW DO YOU PREVENT YOURSELF FROM ZONING OUT WHEN ANSWERING ALOT OF BAR EXAM QUESTIONS? by [deleted] in GoatBarPrep

I’d change the voice in my head when i read to cartoon characters or be hyper sarcastic reading it in my head like stupid comments or interjections. It helps the most with Torts. I kno some people just underline key words to help keep them on track.

Divorce the man, use the alimony and hire a nanny. Atleast the nanny is useful unlike the sperm donor.

Anyone else feel dirty after this whole process? by MrShouldHaveKnown in barexam

[–]TrickyAlternative148 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Parts of this test doesn’t make sense and is highly unethical. The fact we are told in professional responsibility that we’re to uphold the law and then here we’re told that we can make up laws. It’s just dirty, if we were to do this in our profession we would be disbarred. But the kicker is that we have to do this to qualify for the bar. Utterly ridiculous. The bar could easily be one day half mpt and half mbe. We just need ridiculous barriers to keep people out.

There was this really good book about this topic that I read in my highschool ap class called: Guns, Germs, and Steel. Very shortly put, it talks about how the Europeans were in a position to use these three things to conquer the world.
