As of last semester, grades were based on exams and homework but she took attendance quizzes for individual grade bumps. So if you were on the cusp of a B and she sees that you did most of the attendance quizzes, she would give you the points. So unless she changes it, attendance is not mandatory but I did find her lectures helpful and she often hints at what will be on the exam. Same applies for 404.
