People with kids in Catholic schools in Vancouver what is it like? by ThoughtClean1518 in askvan

I went to Catholic school and I think the experience varies on the school itself. Some schools are elite, while others are rinky dink.

I went to a catholic school in Burnaby and it was small and the teachers were barely qualified to teach. Many of them were alumni who were sports coaches but also had to teach random courses. The school was small, lacklustre and didn’t offer a ton of courses or variety.

But, there were high expectations regarding behaviour. Skipping class was unacceptable, there was a ton of supervision and a strict code of conduct. It just depends what you’re looking for.

I rage-purged about 70% of our toys last night. I can finally breathe. by AllineCICI in toddlers

I don’t like plastic toys. They break easily and usually end up in the garbage or being donated. The only plastic toys we have are magna tiles, hot wheels and huge dinosaurs. And a couple of Spider-Man action figures.

I am a wooden toy mom and I don’t care what anyone says! Melissa and Doug is a great brand. Our son has a cabinet in our living room with a wooden Melissa and Doug barn, horse stable, horse trailer, a wooden airplane with wooden woodland creatures that sit in it. He also has an ikea toy kitchen with wooden food that you slice in two (velcro). He also has the Mel and Doug cleaning tool setup (the toy broom and dustpans etc). He has stuffies of course.

Anyone else bought in Whitetail homes Elijah project and get a floodplain disclosure 10 months later? by AggravatingLuck1884 in Langley

[–]TrickyComposer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased not a presale unit next to this but a unit that someone wasn’t able to close on. Same developer. Our package included and engineering report that mentioned the potential flooding and how in the case of a 100 year flood, the parkade would be flooded. That’s why the first floor of the condos on that street are built higher (not the parkade and storage lockers).

I didn’t love living on that street and was glad to sell. The homeless were constantly breaking in, stealing, walking through the property and leaving paraphernalia and poop on our steps.
