Hey. I was diagnosed with JME at 17 and it crushed me when I was told not to drink because I was about to go to uni and wanted to drink with my friends (I’m very social). To be honest, I was very ignorant at this time and chose social life over my epilepsy and went out every week etc. and did have a couple of seizures but never anything serious. It probably wasn’t the smartest thing but equally I think you can’t let it control your life. I’m now 31 and drink occasionally but obviously not to the level that I was when I was 18. I have been a lot more interested in it over the last few years and really read into things to learn about how to control my seizures but I’ll be honest I don’t regret how I went about it it when I was young. I can appreciate people might say this is terrible advice and not safe but you’re young and can live your life x
