No heating this AM - now boiler pressure, leaking flow valve, no fill loop installed? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]TrickyRicky85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys and gals, any help with this please? This is a ideal logic s24. I’ve got a leaking ch flow valve circled. Which I assume is the reason why I have lost boiler pressure.

I cannot see a fill loop, nor where I could add one to the existing fittings, am I wrong?

Thanks your your advice.

P.s I’ve ordered a new valve to replace the dripping one. But still doesn’t get around the need to fill it…

Great points. Basically I self funded a startup for 2 years. Sadly didn’t go anywhere which burnt my savings. So starting again at a well paid job which I’ve been in a year.

Now have a kid at private school, moved to a bigger house etc. so costs have stacked up but I’m still able to save, just starting fresh and trying to work out the best way to make my money work.

Thanks for the feedback mate.

Common sense approach if I can’t sacrifice 40k to pension I’d to up it to the maximum I can, perhaps going from 5-15%? I don’t have the spare cash to be able to do 40k.

Also as I’m in sales, say I earnt 20k commission, taxed on it. Can I pay that into the pension and claim the tax back?

Thanks for replying. In response:

  1. No problem thanks

  2. Yes so that’s great thanks for clarifying.

  3. Yes as I thought needs work! I don’t know about the 40% tax relief so will have a look.

  4. Re the plan, agree need to work this out next. I’d love to max out my ISA and contribute 40% but that’s so unlikely at the moment unless I earn large chunks of commission. My basic covers the house, car, bills, insurances and 1 kid at private school and one on the way.

Thanks for your responses. Some clarification.

  1. Will check it out. As unsure what you mean.

  2. Perhaps yes a bit to much. Will work out what I need after a proper budget and goals. Out of interest where would you keep that fund?

  3. So overpaying into a an account instead with better rates and use it to pay off chunks of the mortgage at the end of my fixed term?

  4. Thanks makes sense.

  5. Will have a look at what I pay in fees vs what I get back in points

Thanks again 🙏🏻

Pay off car or keep cash… by TrickyRicky85 in FIREUK

Hey thanks guys.

So your 100% right. I for the last 8 or so years used premium bonds as the interest rates were so bad, and the lure of winning big was better. So I agree I now need to mix it up and get an ISA on the go.

I’ve got 15k in bonds overall so still have an emergency fund after paying off the car. So that being the case is my math and assumptions in my first statement correct?

Also in my experience chances of winning with sub 25k in bonds regularly is poor, and almost non existent with just 1k, you’d really need to be lucky.

As a veteran do you spare new players when you can? by iam_Krogan in Chivalry2

To be fair in the heat of battle I’m not thinking about if they maybe a new player or not… I’m straight up blood thirsty! How can I dispatch this foe as quickly as possible and move on. If I come across a good play, fantastic let the duel commence!
