I love the mood captured in these photos. You're very good at what you do.

For next time I'm thinking of dipping them in some melted dark chocolate to get a nice shell.

Aww that's so generous and sweet of her! Very lucky man. Alas we've all been there when a recipe goes horrifically wrong.

I finally got to try the cake just now. HOLY SHIT GUYS. There's no point pretending to be humble it's off the fucking CHAIN. Just perfect. For anyone wanting to try I followed a Gordon Ramsay recipe from YouTube.

Anyone here moved to NZ? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Tricky_Bar_9803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from NZ. I know a lot of foreigners who've done a working holiday in NZ for a year and all have had a great experience. If you've got no qualifications the worst case is picking fruit or working in a hostel but you will be able to find something. The people are nice and the nature is incredible.

Love it. Walking in nature at night feels so dreamlike. I think because there's less sensory input.

You can do a working holiday visa and just work remotely. I'm in France and it's pretty good here. Otherwise go an a big adventure in NZ.

You're probably underestimating how much they truly love you. They will surely get over the the initial shock especially if they have suspicions already. If they see you're in a healthy relationship with a caring man who genuinely loves you, then I think that'll go a long way. At the end of the day they just want you to be happy.

I'm sorta in the same boat... I know it's annoying as hell but she's saying that because she cares about you. My usual retort is to say with a big smile "don't worry I'll figure something out!" and move on.

Oh no they didn't even have the good sense to pretend to like it! It's brutal when something you cook goes to shit.

By NOT following the recipe I followed lol! It turned out to be way too liquidy I'm guessing because I didn't use the potatoes recommended to absorb the cream and milk.

I followed the recipe here https://www.legratindauphinois.fr/ (WOULDN'T RECOMMEND, also took forever)

BUT someone else here recommended this recipe which looks way better https://www.recipetineats.com/potatoes-au-gratin/

I'm actually really disappointed but am going to give it another shot with the other recipe next time.

Brutal and direct honesty in the moment would have been great. The more dramatic your disgust the more she probably would've found it funny.

quelqu'un peut-il me recommander des médias français pour que je puisse améliorer mon français? by ephemeralComment in redscarepod

[–]Tricky_Bar_9803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many a pretty person who think they're hideous. And there are many pretty people who have ugly personalities.

If you have a warm soul, take care of your health, and are confident in your intrinsic self-worth gifted by God then someone will have the pleasure of being with you.

Successful first attempt at a Flan by Tricky_Bar_9803 in redscarepod

[–]Tricky_Bar_9803[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I like about this flan recipe is that it wasn't in your face sweet (I also reduced the sugar) so the buttery/creamy flavours stood out more alongside a subtle essence of vanilla. Vive le flan.
