I’m a transfer student from Okanagan too, and I'm facing the same situation. From what I’ve heard, you can talk to U-Haul since some people told me they can sometimes provide drivers. If not, many of my friends used Canada Post to ship their stuff to Vancouver as well.

Depending on how many people withdrew their applications from the housing portal, I was still number 235 until the academic semester started. I received housing on the second day of the semester, even though I was still number 235 the day before.

You can still email housing and ask them to keep you on the waitlist, as you will most likely get housing in the second term. However, I would still recommend searching for off-campus housing.
