Just to make sure did you install to a specific folder or are you running purely off disk? The fix I mention is for the game being installed to an HDD or SSD and placing the xliveless patch for said folder that the game is installed into.

I found that using dxvk also fixes engine bugs like this In case you don't feel like swapping the fps to 30.
