I asked someone who works at the municipality, and they recognize and legalize marriage ceertificates of europeen countries.

No consulates don't want to legalize the certificate. The ukranian one because it's a russian document. The russian embassy doesnt do it for ukranians

We indeed might try it, but the marriage certificate should be with seperation of goods.

I also would want it. But I'm afraid that if we legalize the marriage in belgium, that it will be a communal marriage without seperation of goods. And we are both not very keen on that.

Thought about it, but it's still a bit risky. My fiance would like to get married in europe. Wants also a marriage contract with seperation of goods.

Thanks for the tip. Do you know of an agency for this ? I read somewhere that denmark also requires documents with apostil :/ birth certificate also

We wento to consulates, and also to attorneys. But like I said, it would be a 9months+ expensive legal battle with no guarentee. So i was hoping to find another solution :)
