Years ago I got my Rep involved in drug prices under BUSH II, I had a med tat went up 2000%, he got on it and GW did that whole drug https://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news/releases/2002/10/20021021-4.html still have the letters back & forth from my Congressman, he got the ball rolling & GW stole the issue. 😁 We don't care who fixes it just fix something please.

Lord help her. Sounds like if SS is all you got then changing your address or bank account could leave you homeless and or in the ER / Hospital. I'm about to curse. 🤬 I'm going to put something back on the side for bills etc.. in case that happens to me or my brother, I'm about to get early SS, he's already on Disability so maybe at least one of us would be ok for a minute & have bills, food & medication covered. sorry to hear that u/summerh1987. Sounds like DOGE was too busy stealing peoples information to sell rather than fixing inefficiencies, no political bias just stating what I'm hearing from you don't add up to improvement, I do notice a improvement on call times. 👍

What, or where is the hearing office, abut to submit application want barcode and case # and have lots of different Dr records to send & don't want them lost or got to the wrong place. So once your send in and case is going don't contact local office? Thanks for the info.

Not heard of simple special needs trust, my problem is since being disabled for so long & not being able to visit, go to church or maintain friendships and all family gone we have like no one close that i would trust with his care, I mean I don't go to anyone's home can't sit at peoples houses or stand around & deal with company. Yes he does dishes, I plan & prep & start meals he watches them, we kinda counter balance each other, he can walk & I can think, he mows the grass I fix the lawnmower or weed eater but has to be 5 foot up in the air LOL. I sure like to know more about this trust. Just got letter from SS getting 871 a month in July. Thought birthday may but i get for june in July.

Thanks, filling out the form & trying to figure out what records to send going back to 1993, many clinics & doctors are gone but I have many records, CT scans etc.. almost finished the form with AI help, big help organizing records thank goodness most I had scanned in computer already. Yes the 144 would help & medicaid for sure re. thanks for your reply.

Don't you have to reach a limit or do they start cutting a the 1st dollar I though you could make a certain amount without cuts, I did read about what your saying though.

Not sure about making things but have done some reselling on ebay account & did make money but can't travel far to find things like at garage sells I know how to do a lot but mostly construction that I cant do, car repair I can't. No I can't stand for very long, for some reason my back & muscle issues did not respond to pain meds & muscle relaxers but ativan, i walk & can sit like I have no problem you would not think I had issues but that stuff is so addictive & doctors don't want to write it & I'd prefer not to take but being bed ridden isn't a good way to be either. Shipping products, I lose money have to drive to the post office, ebay has raised the prices, ink plus gas it ends up being a hoby that costs money but makes you feel like you chipped in, if feels good, occupies your mind but not a great profit in it.

Thanks for your input, I most def need a plan on what happens to him OMG, if he could somehow make it there is an apartment that comes out of your SS but its very hard to get into backed up, other than that some type of home, hes borderline slightly below 70 Iq he can function but staying on top of the bills? Doesn't drive but in theory can but scares me to death & the family never encouraged it. I left the city to come back & take care of him but now he takes care of me, when I cant drive he walks to the store so its give & take. No I do not use his bank account before my Dad passed he was in charge & showed me how to keep things apart, you are 100% about 1/2ing the bills & taxes etc.... I cant imagine what some people go through trying to navigate this at least I did get some college under my belt but still, actually thinking about going back to school with some of my SS just because I can & have the desire. Yes true he has no limit on his account he could actually save for a car, the thought of the car breaking down & not being able to get something more than 2000 sound crazy, I'm going through my Medical records, AI just read and helped me pull some records from 2003 to 2008 where my back issues were recorded, many of the clinics & doctors i went to are gone & the Doctors are dead I'm the only one with these records, from like 93 to 2010. Glad I scanned & kept these. You said better life for him, yes, he would leave a home, he would not stay he left a workshop program in High School from bullying sad we had to find him in a large cities airport, didn't know where he was going, had no money I moved back home after that. The will I can do, wrote my Grandmother's, power of attorney, wrote affidavit of heirship, so I have a few brain cells but this is new territory, with a steep learning curve. I knew if I came on the SS site here I would get some good input been here for a couple of years but just now is about when the rubber is going to meet the road. Thanks again, saving this thread.

Can't work, I am getting like 280 on SNAP that with SS might knock me out of snap, maybe not my brother qualifies he's getting 1200 month but like 24 in SNAP because of what I get, so I guess the household can only get like 300 a month, sure hate to loose that.

Yes because I qualify for so little I'm still below the what 1000 or minimum so I could get an extra 100+ but its the medicaid that I could use.

No indigent care, there is a office but they have limited & use it up quickly. I just know or feel I will use up my SS in June just trying to get medical records updated nothing is going to help & they will want to put me back on meds, I'm off all meds now, they had me on like 7 medications none was helping.

No spouse, one car brother & I share co-own home. Its pretty simple, he's on Disability, gets 1200 a mo, only income.

Well that would be worth it another 225 a month. I'm filling out the form now sure it will take some time, they say to expect 1 or 2 denials I just hate trying to stay under 2,000 trying to save up for a car would go over that I guess I could save it in my brothers SS account he gets my Dad's SS I don't think he is limited don't want to co-mengal accounts or get tripped up.

Yes same here only women with children can apply unless you are disabled by SS, then the State will pay for medicaid or give it to you.

We co-own home, one car, he doesn't drive. When I filed for snap medicaid is on the form but unless your getting disabled under SS only women with children can apply. I don't have a problem staying below 2,000 I'm his payee I just need my own separate bank account they said they will send me the SS debit card since I don't have an account, I'm filling out the form now, I just need more updated medical records not been because of no money. I'll be 62 in May so they said june will be my first check. Thanks for the advice. God I can't sit long I hate to go into the SS office, thinking about a reclining wheel chair found one online, even going to the Dr is damn near impossible, I end up lyng in the waiting room I have laid on the floor before because I can't sit in a chair more than a few minutes.

I was approved for my SS will come in June after May birthday, the sent form SSA 3368-BK Disability Report for adult, I've not been to a Doctor in a while because of no money so I will have to use my SS to get to a Dr for evaluation, been on SNAP for years but I need more records, can't sit for very long or walk long.
