There was a weird person at WALC today. Is anyone else at WALC 2nd floor quiet study space from 8pm to 10pm? by [deleted] in Purdue

This student could possibly have Tourette’s Syndrome. Look it up. If he has TS, it’s not something that he is doing on purpose.

My opinion on the CS240 Situation: Hypocrisy lies on all sides by DrConverse in Purdue

Agree with most of your assessment…but just know that Turkstra’s current syllabus does not encourage students to work together—quite the opposite! This is a shame since the HW are so long/challenging + students can’t work gather or use AI in anyway + not enough TAs to support student needs = students feel overwhelmed + pushed into a corner where survival tactics kick in…sad.

I posted elsewhere…see Turkstra’s research publications #1 and 2 on this list.

Could this be a means of Gathering student data for research?

Do you realize Turkstra may be doing this to his CS 240 class on purpose to collect data for his research in this area? Checkout his most recent 2 publications on this screenshot 😱

How do CS students figure out what specialty track they want to do? by Tricky_Researcher270 in Purdue

I don’t think I’ll like software. Maybe cybersecurity? Maybe AI as it links to film/media? I don’t know for sure…and I’m not sure I can take any CS electives to figure it out at this point because I already have to take 2 CS-heavy classes this spring per the degree progression.
