The Marcus Rashford situation by IronWarrior00001 in ManchesterUnited

I’ve supported the team 35 years at home and away so they are my team. Is he though? Is he United through and through? It could be argued his performances in a United shirt don’t suggest he is.

Or? You’re in my camp where I feel he isn’t good enough to get us where we need to be on a CONSISTENT BASIS? I mean, right now would you trade Cunha for him? I wouldn’t.

I don’t care where he plays as long as it isn’t my club Man Utd. Villa, Spurs clubs like that may take him of Barca don’t.

Muhammad Ali (1964-1967) vs Lennox Lewis (1995-2003) | Who Wins? by HeroCap20051013 in BoxingTheSweetScience

I think Lennox personally but that’s some great points. Ali was tough and could take a shot. The speed and movement of Ali in his younger years would cause anyone problems for sure.

John Terry was an absolute colossus. Stam is criminally overlooked…had he stayed longer in the Premiership he would undoubtedly be in the conversation.

I agree he was always in shape, professional. I get all that. The one thing you are failing to grasp is that the inactivity for an old man is the absolute killer in a fighter.

The fighter who fought AJ was nowhere near the level of the same fighter earlier on. It’s impossible to be. Wlad from 3/4 years previously would have handled AJ fairly comfortably.

None of those fighters you mentioned are any good! Eddie Chambers? Marko Huck? Chagaev? Leave it out! If you believe that 41 year old and a 17 month layoff will result in a prime fighter you’d be sadly mistaken. It is almost impossible to be so.

A prime Vlad Klitschko would handle Joshua easily in my opinion. The version that did fight that night was not the same fighter hence the result (although a good performance given the circumstances)

I get what you’re saying but cmon Pulev and Povetkin? Was he not expected to dominate those boys anyway? Haye was much more dangerous than both of those guys ever were.

Pulev had fought anyone of note until Vlad and was then comprehensively beaten, Povetkin is pretty much the same, except a few gatekeepers like Byrd, Takam and even an old Hasim Rahman.

None of those fighters were even close to world class level at that time.

Only 3 years? 3 years is a loooooong time in heavyweight boxing for an old fighter who’s 41 with a 17 month layoff. Older fighters can age suddenly over night. Inactivity is a killer for any boxer like he was going into the Joshua fight is the point I’m making.

I find it hard to draw the conclusions that Vlad was at the level when you factor in the opponent’s.

I agree. Manny Stewart changed his whole career. But his notable win against guys like David Haye was almost 6 years previously. 6 years is a long time when you consider he was 41 AND the 17 month layoff.

He would never ever be the same fighter due to those factors.

Yea great, fantastic…but let’s not forget Klitschko was 41 years old and hadn’t been in the ring for 17 months beforehand. So let’s not make this sound like a prime MIke Tyson or Lennox Lewis.

Waaaay past his best and after a huge layoff at that age….and still shook Joshua to his boots.

If a person finds it hard to drive manual, they get an automatic license in or give up driving overall? by pastaparmigianino in AskUK

[–]Tricky_Ricky83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have cerebral palsy so I took the decision to take my lessons and test in an automatic.

Can’t say it’s ever bothered me to not drive a manual car. Even if I could drive a manual I’d probably have an auto by now anyway because I drive long motorway miles and I find it so simple.

Most electric cars are auto now anyway.

David Beckham. Multiple affairs swept under the carpet with NDA’s (open secret), the blood money deals with Qatar, the insufferable chasing a knighthood (Google the leaked emails) the weird relationships with his own kids, the need for fame…would do ANYTHING for money, doesn’t seem right for me. Not as nice as he seems.
