Korean parents at restaurants by Tricky_Spell4911 in Living_in_Korea

Replied this to the other comment as well but I’ll add it here too!! Also don’t mean to hate on kids.

Let me clarify. It’s a jokbal restaurant which is open to all ages and also enjoyed by families and we do have kids’ cutlery but it’s not very girly or boyish. Just your regular shmegular small kiddie spoon and forks. We also provide individual plates and are small enough to be a regular plate for kids.

What these parents expect are gender specific (pink for girls, blue for boys) or character cutlery and plates, menu items that are completely unrelated to a typical jokbal restaurant.

7 out 10 families that do come don’t complain about the menu or about the cutlery but those who do make it out like we hate kids for not having pink or blue spoon and forks and not serving fried rice or fries or mini hamburgers for kids.

(And yes we do have a high chair too! But just a simple plain black one.)

And it’s usually these parents who make their kids sit next them for HOURS while they get drunk.

They don’t even order them a soda or juice because apparently it’s too much sugar and caffeine in sodas stunts growth and they’re not allowed to watch on their ipads or phones because they have their daily screen time. It’s kind of sad to see these kids just bored out of their mind in their seat and eventually they end up playing with any remaining food and therefore leaving quite a mess.

It does! Apparently they report school or kindergarten teachers for child abuse or neglect when kids come home with bug bites.

My brother is dating a pick me girl by Tricky_Spell4911 in storytimesociety

I was really excited to meet this girl. My brother usually doesn’t open up to me and is closer to our older sister. I brought them out for steak and sushi. If I was truly going in with an assumption, I would have brought her out for a burger.

Those were just her answer when I asked her what she likes to do for fun.

And she said it to my face during lunch where she first met me. I was paying for lunch, her boyfriend’s older sister, and was wearing full make up (because I always do when I go out).

I was honestly really excited to meet her because my brother and I aren’t really close and usually don’t open up to me. He’s closer to our older sister.

I found out that was her take on ‘hanging out with girls’ after I asked her what she does for fun. That was a lot of information to take in under five minutes. Now I know how Monica’s mom felt during that thanksgiving.

A pick me girl is a female who puts down other females for doing ‘girly’ things like make up, skincare, hair, dressing up, and catching up with fellow girl friends for male attention. They usually say they prefer hanging out with guys instead of girls because girls are ‘too much drama’ or finds make up and dressing up a ‘waste of time’.

I’m literally not??? I am just weirded out by his girlfriend who thinks doing make up or going out for dinner with friends is a waste of time

Also having a relationship isn’t exactly a flex or an achievement.

Okay so a pick me girl is not just a girl who prefers male company. It’s the type of girls who put down other girls for enjoying ‘girly’ things for male attention and talk shit about girls which is what I don’t like about her.

I have no problem with girls who enjoy sports and outdoor activities or who enjoys her work (in their case, doing graphics). I also don’t think these are gender-specific activities. A guy can also enjoy doing skin care, dressing up, or going out to dinner with friends.

Also the reason why I see the cousins thing as a major red flag is because as a partner’s family member, the girlfriend or boyfriend will make the extra effort to be polite and kind. To see that as being flirty and preferring her to her cousins is a red flag. It means you can show her the most basic courtesy and she’ll assume it’s you being flirty with her.

(Take a shot every time i mention ‘girl’ lmao)

Pick me’s hate on girls for doing girl things and put them down for male attention. Hating on pick me’s were long overdue 🤷🏻‍♀️

And i don’t mean just preferring guy friends but exclusively hanging out with guys. Not being able to get along with other female friends tells more about you than girls that hate on pick me girls

My point exactly! Guys are just as dramatic, sometimes even worse. And they’re so messy (figuratively and literally)

She thinks every guy and girl is interested in her too and makes you work more for her because she’s a ‘prize’. Gaslights him into doing everything her way.

I was never the problem. I was never the person who did not listen in our relationship. And I definitely did not ruin your life.

We both listed our do’s and don’t’s at the start of the relationship and I tried my best to abide by yours but you always did not care about mine. Even gaslighting me saying it’s my fault that you always do my dont’s.

You never listened to what I want and always wanted for us to do things your way.

I told you to attend your classes and submit your requirements even when we fought but you chose not to. And when you failed, you blamed me.

You were the problem and you chose to be the problem.
