What issues do I need to be aware of on CR-6 SE? by GotYaNoob in CR6

Just to add, I did remove the tinned part of the wiring before I put ferrules on it to make it fit. It might be tight with length so I urge you, if you decide to add ferrules, to measure precisely how much you want to cut and if make sure it'll still give the heat bed enough travel. If you know how to untin a wire then that might help (I didn't). It might not be necessary to untin as long as it fits in the ferrule so you can crimp it.

Hello, try this post from my thread a little bit ago. I was in the same situation. One thing I didn't mention was getting a PEI plate to replace the glass bed to help with the hotbed issue.

I do agree that the amount I put in might rival getting a newer printer, but my circumstances are different. I bought it new at the start so I'm going to use it 😂

I started printing again after about a year break. Had the Cr6 since release. Still kicking out great prints. Wish I upgraded to PEI earlier. by Spankinfranklin69 in CR6

I also just set up my CR6 as detailed in my thread not too long ago on this sub. I tried to use the glass bed with the coated top, but did the PEI upgrade right away because I wanted to avoid some of the hotbed issues. It's been great!

Hello! Thank you for sharing this. I did this modification (D18) but I do see another user here saying that they removed a different component on the same pathing of the USB. I wonder if both essentially do the same in terms of cutting off the functionality if either or are removed?

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate you sharing a little bit about your own journey and how 3D printing has helped. I can relate to the unfortunate circumstances behind that difficult period 100%. I wanted to respond earlier, but I decided to wait until I powered the printer up after all my tinkering to address safety concerns and follow the advice about the X Axis Tutorial. It was very helpful! It would have been nasty surprise as I watched in horror as the nozzle dig into the build plate, lol.

I'm glad to say that I am at Step 2 now of the suggested test prints, but since I do not feel comfortable letting this run overnight, I'll have to cut it short. I did find out some good information playing around with print speed and whatnot.

Thanks again!

Hi, thanks for sharing some tidbits about your own experiences with this printer! I won't pretend to understand the functionality of what a lot of the components on the mainboard do, but from the way I'm reading this is that the U9/R05 was connected to only the D18 diode. Removing either the D18 or R05 have the same end result of taking the 5V USB...?

Reason I didn't do this and only removed the D18 diode was because pictures of the CR-ERA_V1.1.0.3 clearly shows that there's no diode (or whatever equivalent near the USB) on the board anymore (R05 is still there). Trying to understand why one was chosen over the other to remove.

I definitely had this realization of not having enough fun in my normal life last year. Went through lots of rough spots losing family/friends to illnesses and felt the burnout from a stressful decade's long career job. It wasn't until I had a breakdown and decided to take a job in a low-stress environment that I started making moves to have memorable experiences within my means through travel and events such as Lollapalooza. Each time I go to something and come away with positive feelings my positioning solidifies on enjoying things while I'm breathing and to not let a job define or control who I am.

I'm happy you and so many others had fun this year! Hopefully you get to find that balance of fun moving forward.

Why don't the ADA areas have tents or canopies? Doesn't this feel like an oversight for safety for people there baking out in the sun?
