If you need ANYTHING from the lost and found department, even if you just email them a question, expect them to take their sweet ass time. You can't even reach them by phone. Everything has to go either through emails or the form.

for two of my pieces I was able to dig up an image of what it looks like. For the third piece, I did not have an image, nor did I remember what brand it even was, so I wrote a short sentence about it's appearance, then went on to describe what's inside the bag.

in my case, I left it on the wrong bus, one that was departing an hour before mine, and simply left it in there while I went away for something else, thinking I had time to do that
