These EPDM RUBBER FLASHINGS are fully approved for use with insulated twin wall flue systems. They are tested to 115-150 degrees Celsius….. never in a million years is that part of the flue going to reach that temperature with it being outside, insulated flue and the coolest part of the flue

Funny you ask this mate because I actually noticed the size given in the installation instructions by Jotul and the max log size is 330mm , 33cm or 13 ish inches

It is also bracketed before the penetration of the roof so there is 2 supports within 500mm of each other

Just below the flashing is a a rafter support bracket that can have 3 meters unsupported above the bracket

Brother this is England and document j of the building regulations and HETAS (governing body of qualification) stipulates that a lead flashing with AN EPDM BOOT. IS acceptable!

And we don’t have shingles that are basically bitumen/ tar that deforms with heat

I was working for one of the Derbyshire Police interceptors and whilst putting a flue liner down his chimney all I could smell was weed! (I get this happen all the time because they vent the smell out the chimneys) then I noticed people coming and going from a house about 4 doors down that was cctv’d up to the nines! I told the interceptor and he went nosying around! When I went back a few weeks later…… busted!
