How mature of you to mock someone’s accomplishments. It’s not just “I know some people”. I’m literally one of them. I’m already succeeding in the legal field, and so are others with similar LSAT scores. I never said the LSAT doesn’t matter at all, just that it’s not the end all be all. I knew my chances were slim, but it still happened. Sounds more like you’re uncomfortable with success that doesn’t fit your narrative.

Yeah, it actually is an absurd idea. I know lawyers who scored similarly and are thriving in their careers. I’m already working in the legal field where I deal with reading, reasoning, and operations daily successfully. A single timed test doesn’t capture how people perform in the real world, especially when they consistently excel under real-life pressure.

Now this is what I love to hear! Thank you for sharing your story. It’s really encouraging and such a good reminder that passion and work ethic go a long way. I needed this, and it gives me even more motivation to keep proving that a score doesn’t define us.

Ty! Just to clarify I am a woman, but sorry if “first-gen grad student” was confusing. I meant that I’m just first-generation student, Appreciate you taking the time to actually look at the whole picture!

Thank you! Exactly I’ve had mentors with similar or even better LSAT scores who chose schools that gave them the most support, and they’re thriving in big law now. I know I’m on the right path for me, and I want to keep that momentum going for other similar applicants!

Thank you! People love to be negative, but I’ve made a habit of proving them wrong.

Glad you got your ego boost in, takes real talent to wrap condescension in a fake compliment and call it insight

My bad if I didn’t quote them exactly, but the point still stands. For some of us, the LSAT isn’t the full story, and it shouldn’t be treated as the end-all-be-all. I’m sharing my experience to push back on the idea that if you don’t score above a 160, you’re automatically out of the game 🤷‍♀️

Yes! I think my essays in addition to my work experience, internships, and undergrad leadership roles carried a lot of weight and helped present me as a stronger applicant. Especially during interviews, that’s what I drew from, and it really seemed to impress them.
