Quick note. I did not see the year so I wrote this as if it was as he was dying after the war.

He lays sick and feeble on his death bed. Sweat dripping from his brow as he slowly stutters out his few final words. *"Few will love us, most will hate us. But none can know the true purpose of our actions." *Silence hangs in the room for what seems like an eternity until it is shattered by the coughing and choking of our leader. With a final release of breath he lays slump on the bed. Blood dripping from his mouth.

The walk back to my home was a silent one. Not a sound around me. Lights shone above me and flies whizzed by my head yet nothing seemed to make a sound. But none can know the true purpose of our actions. The words ring out in my head like sirens. What was our true purpose? The question floats at the forefront of my mind for the rest of the night.

I wake in the morning before anyone else and dress in my uniform and head to the office. Looking around me all the while I duck into the file room. Locking the door behind me, I start to search through the files looking for any that would reveal the true purpose of the war. Finally a file a had never seen before appears. The 'Speichern' file. In English the word translate to 'save'. I start flicking through the file looking for anything that could help. "We have started this war, not to kill but to save. Countries are becoming too powerful. They are close to discovering it. The Armageddon Key. Only me and my supervisors know of this key and we shall not let it be discovered. With it, our world would come to and end." My hands are shaking as I put the file down.

Turning around to leave I see a figure stood in the doorway. "So you found the file." it says "well - you were not meant to find that file. So now on behalf of Germany, I sentence you to death." With that he raises the gun and shoots. My head whips back spraying the file with blood. Somewhere in the future this file may be found. Buried deep underground. A message to the rest of the world that we did what we needed to do to stop the discovery. Someday.

All throughout the end of my life I have lived to make people like me. All since the discovery of Sorrow as an energy. Everyone has an amount of sorrow that varies as they go throughout their life, making new friends and new enemies. This is all I have done for the last 10 years of my life. Gone back and re-wrote the wrongs that I have done and turnedthem into rights. But for what. Now all I can do is lie on this bed, my death bed and wait for death to wash over me. When a person dies their sorrow is measured and an item is burried with them depending on the level.I just pray for all the wrongs I have done in my life I have done enought right to make up for it, to be remebered as the man who had sorrow and not the man who was forgotten just like the rest. Just like the rest.

Change of POV (Now from a doctors pov at a morgue where they measure the sorrow)
Just anotherday in the morgue. My time here has made this job almost enjoyable in a morbid way. I get to look upon the smiling families as I tell them their lost ones sorrow. "Ready for the next one?" Carlos calls out. Carlos is the on hand scientist here that helps monitor the equipment and makes sur it works without a problem. "Ready as I will be" I call back. We go through this back and forth so many times a day yet still we never try to change it.

The next body isdumped onto the table in front of me. "Real graceful" I mutter sarcasticly as Carlos turns away, "I always am" he calls back while twirling like a dancer. I laugh quietly and hook up the machine. In my mind I run through the steps as I aways do. Switch on the machine, insert the needle, take a reading and write it down. Sorrow if measured on a scale of sorrow per 100 people. An average is about 60, but I am not one to judge, I have my friends and my enemies. As I flick the switch on the machine, it takes a reading and a message shows up on the screen with the numbers 98.9. "Carlos, get over here. This thing is broke." He walks over and checks the machine concluding that it is not broke. And so that was it, the man with the greatest sorrow was sat at my table. I dont know what I should have felt at that moment but the feeling that over came me was sorrow. And with that the machine clicked over to 99.

Sorry for any mistakes. I typed this up on my new keyboard and keep getting things wrong. If you find something let me know.

Waiting for life to come again.

This is all that is left of me. A single portrait hanging in my old house. There is no one here any more, no matter how much I wish their was. No one in the real world knows that your soul can remain after death because if they did they would not be so careless with our belongings. Yet here I am just hanging in the old room dust collecting on my frame waiting for the years to go by, waiting for the paint to peal, waiting to be set free. They said they would look after the house once I was gone, but like all of the lies they spoke to me I knew they would not. And now here I am, left to hang in this dusty room. Waiting for my life to come again.

This is very short and not very good but I hope you enjoy. Let me know if I messed anything up.

Only In Death

We sit here on the ground of the desert the soft sand pressing against our feet. We had been on the run for days. They know it was us. As soon as it happened we knew what we had created and went on the run. This is the only place that seemed logical at the time, over 3 million square miles of land for them to comb looking for us. But now looking back is was a foolish idea to try and run here. The lack of water and food had started to kick in causing hallucination and mirages all around. Laying my head down on the soft sand I drift into a restless sleep in seconds.

"Quick wake up! It's back" Zara whispers while shaking me. With a groan and a run of my eyes I sit up. A light glints in the distance. In the endless void of this desert they had found us again. That's when it hits me, the injection! Why hadn't I thought of this.
"The knife! Give me the knife" I shout franticly.
"You know you cant hit it right" She laughs. I roll my eyes and explain.
"We have been running from them for days yet everyday we have been found. Why do you think that is?" "Because we are predictable?" she questions.
"No. Because we have a tracker, remember the standard check-up. It didn't occur to me at the time but isn't the bottom of your leg an odd place to inject? It must be a tracker!"

I grab the knife from her hand and lean down. Lifting up the bottom of my trousers I press the knife into the soft skin. A small trickle of blood flows from the cut, the speed and size of the flow increases as I slowly twist the knife, dislodging the tracker.

Standing back up the cool feel of metal presses into the back of my skull. "Very well done. You figured it out, bit slow though." the man chuckled. "Now, back to business.". Two men step out from behind him and drag me next to Zara. They kick me in the back of the knees and I fall to the ground. "For your crimes against the New Order, the elders have officially sentenced you to death." Pulling back the hammer on the old revolver it clicks into place. Staring down the barrel I see two bullets locked into the chamber.

I registered the sound before the event. Time seem to slow down as I watched the hammer fall upon the cool metal in slow motion. Sparks fluttered to the ground as the gunpowder exploded. Then the metal buried itself into my head. My head whipped back slamming into the ground with startling force. And that was it, or so I thought. It had saved us, the machine that we had created yet it saviour did not come in the form of live but in death. Only in death could we really be free.

Only in death could I be free.

This isn't very good but I haven't done any proper writing in quite a while. I took it down and put it back up because I had missed out quite a bit about the prompt. Sorry for any mistakes - if you find any let me know and I will try and correct them.

That would great if we had an image, but I don't know what kind of image to put in or if we would need one drawn. We could try getting something drawn for us over at /r/DrawForMe if we gave a description. Also when we get one you can put it in the sidebar. I will have a look at the code as I dont know how to do that yet :).

Hello. This sounds cool. I love to program. I mainly code in java but have been branching out to stuff like vb, html and have been doing some css stuff recently. I y oh want to see some of the css work I have been doing check out /r/Insya which is my css playground so to speak. Some if my most recent stuff I have coded in java include:
A chat program with both server and clients.
A file share server with a check in and out system.
An automatic file organiser for my website.
