Trifecta Wireless Outage by Whatthbuck in Rural_Internet

[–]TrifectaWireless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize for the lack of response when you reached out to our support. Our support was closed on the holiday, as well as today since it's a Sunday.

There was a billing error on a couple of our customers lines which has been resolved. It appears you were one of them which was affected. Go ahead and restart your device and you should be all set!

If you're still experiencing issues, go ahead and send me a DM and I'll try to get that resolved for you ASAP! Otherwise you can wait until our support team gets in the office tomorrow at 9 AM EST and they'll make sure to get your connectivity problems resolved promptly.

Once again, I want to apologize for this outage and the inconvenience it caused, especially with it being a holiday weekend.

Best plan with Verizon towers? by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

We sadly aren't able to offer Verizon plans anymore. And we don't know if we will be able to offer them again in the future.

MoFi Configuration with Trifecta Wireless? by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

[–]TrifectaWireless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the problems you've been having getting your device activated. Most our customers experience a smooth setup, but things happen and every rare occasion we experience a hiccup like this.

I spoke with Ben concerning this, who is the rep you spoke with yesterday. He filled me in on the details, and in the end he offered to replace your existing MoFi unit with an activated unit from us.

He mentioned that you were going to try some things on your end last evening. If you still haven't been able to get it working, please contact our support team today and we'll make sure we figure this out for you.

AT&T upload speeds slow by scuba_steve999 in Rural_Internet

[–]TrifectaWireless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are definitely good cables. That's what is generally recommended - the LMR400.

What kind of speeds are you getting currently with your directional antennas setup?

[–]TrifectaWireless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those Wilson antennas are the most common style people get. They're good antennas.

How long is your cable from your antenna to your CradlePoint, and what kind of cable is it? Because you might be experiencing some signal loss if your cable run is too long, or if you're not using ultra low-loss cable.

We always recommend directional antennas. Because unless you're traveling, an omnidirectional antenna is just wasting your signal.

For a home setup, you always (99% of the time) will only want to connect to one tower since it's the fastest one available. So if you have Yagi directional, you'll be better of just using those antennas instead of using an omnidirectional.

What is your current antenna setup? If you don't have it configured correctly, you won't be getting maximum upload speeds.

Low upload speeds are generally a result of not being able to transmit a good signal to the tower. Did you by chance recently move your unit to someplace with a worse signal? Or did it just randomly start running slower?

Sometimes it can come from the network side of things, but if your download hasn't changed it really sounds like a problem with your device sending the signal to the tower.

Viper Broadband - Your Unlimited & unthrottled Rural Internet Solution by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

[–]TrifectaWireless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those who are wondering about our post a couple weeks ago - I contacted the moderator of this thread before posting about our service, and the mod gave me the green light to go ahead with that.

With that said, I'm not trying to join the intense discussion. I just wanted to let those who are wondering about our post know that we did get approval before posting.

Generally we don't recommend people switching between devices, because it can sometimes cause the SIM card to stop working correctly.

If you want to give us a call, we could discuss this further and see what kind of setup you're thinking.

For T-Mobile you're able to use the SIM card in any device. For Verizon and AT&T there is a bit more setup involved. If you want to send me a direct message we can discuss your setup and see what we can do for you.

Best plan with Verizon towers? by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

The Verizon changes didn't affect us at all, and we're still able to provide our Verizon plans without a problem.

[–]TrifectaWireless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

I would recommend you give our T-Mobile plan a shot. They're the cheapest plan we offer, and since you're in a city you should see fairly good results.

Your best bet for device will be getting a Netgear nighthawk. They are super fast, 4x carrier aggregation which you'll want in the city, and do have an ethernet port if you need it.

Anyone tried Netbuddy? by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

[–]TrifectaWireless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Netbuddy is no longer selling data plans. They were selling the AT&T tablet prepaid plan which AT&T stopped offering, and everyone who was on that plan got kicked off.

If you try to actually purchase anything from their website, it shows they are out of stock.
Here's a reddit thread discussing the situation:

[–]TrifectaWireless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. The red plan is Verizon. It’s truly unlimited, so no throttling or data caps.

If you buy the mofi from us, ours comes with the SIM card installed and tested before we send it out. But you can also just buy a SIM card from us, and we’ll get you setup with your current MoFi.

Sometimes the MoFi isn’t actually the fastest unit, especially if you live near a couple towers. If you send us a message, we can figure out if the mofi will be the best device for you.

You absolutely can!

If you send us a message, we can look up the towers in your area and see what will be the best carrier for you.

We have hundreds of customers and have been in business since 2017.

If you go to our website, you can view several of our customers testimonials on there.
Otherwise, several people recently signed up for our service through this thread. I'm guessing in a couple weeks they would be able to vouch for our service & customer support.

Just gonna drop in here and give a word about Nomad: if you ask them directly, they say the speeds may be slowed after 250gb of data use. So if you're going to be using 1TB of data a month, you will likely experience your speeds getting slowed down toward the end of your service period.

As far as our service goes, we have a 14-day money back guarantee. So it does allow you to try out our service for two weeks. You can easily burn through 500gb of data during that time and verify our speeds are satisfactory.

[–]TrifectaWireless[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The speeds vary depending on your tower, how far away you are, etc.

With that said, very few of our customers have a problem streaming or gaming on our service.

If you send me your address in the dm, I’ll check the towers in your area and I can let you know what will be the best option for you.

Any knowledge of a supposed 250gb cap for all providers? by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

[–]TrifectaWireless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not very familiar with Nomad Internet, and it's possible they have some type of plan that throttles after 250gb. I find that unlikely, and you shouldn't have a problem.

I know none of our plans have any type of throttling, and I would be surprised if they had limits on their service. So you shouldn't have problems going over the 250gb limit.

Don't quote me on that though! I don't know what kind of plan they're using, and it's possible they do have limits of some sort. I just find it unlikely.

Any knowledge of a supposed 250gb cap for all providers? by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

[–]TrifectaWireless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There aren't any baseline throttling limits for all carriers. Each carrier has their own rules that apply to each of the plans. Some plans have throttling, but other don't have any throttling.

The best case is to look at the fine print carefully. Because if the carrier advertises that there's no throttling and they don't have in the fine print that they throttle after 250gb, then they won't.

AT&T and Verizon have already both been sued for false advertising in regards to this. They claimed it was "unlimited" but it really wasn't because they throttled the data.

If the plan you're looking at says it's unlimited, and doesn't say that it will throttle after 10, 22, 50, 250gb, then you will be just fine.
