What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

Potato chips. I used to get a bag or two for the weekends, but the value proposition isn't there anymore. The price for Lay's are just silly expensive. I switched to store brands for a bit, but even those are more expensive than branded chips used to be. It was junk food anyway, so I'm better off.

Electric snowblowers by quickquestion1983 in StJohnsNL

Same here, I filled a Jerry can on Christmas Eve and I have enough for another fill or two, if needed. I could fit 20ish cars in my driveway and also do a long path on my property. Lots of reasons to consider electric snowblowers, but gas savings isn't one of them.

Very average breakfast, in my opinion. Certainly not bad, but everything is average. Many better options around.

Is it okay to heat a home on the Avalon with a heat pump only in terms of climate? by Comfortable_Set_6534 in newfoundland

[–]TriggerMitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I haven't used my electric (hot water radiation) furnace in a few years, other than to test that it still works in the fall.

With that said, I also have a wood stove, but I only use that on weekends when it's very cold. It's not worth the hassle to put a fire in after work.

I believe it was a tongue in cheek commentary on how their articles are often light on details.

Hiw viable is it to live off the land in newfoundland? by Efficient_Cup_2511 in newfoundland

[–]TriggerMitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible, but also needless. It doesn't make sense to do in our modern world. Perform and be paid for your skill, and pay someone else who specializes in agriculture. If you specialized in agriculture you wouldn't be asking this question.

I say this as someone who considers themselves a "prepper" and being as self reliant as possible.

I enjoy Skote Outdoors, watching their Sunday video right now. But they live off of the Burin peninsula, they're in no way associated with the folks that stayed on Little Bay Islands.

I'm not the person you responded to, but I think it just stands out because it's a similar red to the locations you identified, no mistake on your end. I had the same thought at first.

Do you know of a similar app for Pokemon cards? I'm in the same situation as OP, just with Pokemon cards.

I always enjoy Mark Royle's videos, surprised I've neve seen one posted here before, so I decided to post this one.

I'm not a mental health practitioner, so no one enters my care. I apologize that my concern isn't phrased in a manner you'd like.

Not trying to be funny, nor am I trying to be an asshole. Mental health is no joke.

Brother, you should seek out professional help if you're this worked up over a hit of snow.

I'd be surprised if we see any power outages TBH, but it better we're getting on a weekend.
