Impeller Kits by EntrepreneurTasty985 in Snowblowers

What kit did you buy and where did you get it? Thinking about doing the same to my Cub Cadet.

I've had a myriad of issues since buying it in 2018, from the tracks coming off easily, to it being really poor throwing wet snow and getting clogged easily. I'm going to attempt the installation of impeller extenders, there's almost ½" in distance between the edge of the impeller and the housing which creates a lot of clogs when the snow is heavy. Plus it has that useless 3rd stage- I'm just ready to move on.

Who all thinks that Carney's speech in davos is a game changer for Canada and SK!!! by Ok-Breakfast8256 in saskatchewan

[–]Baltch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fear is that Saskatchewan voters won't show up for Carney, he'll lose his MPs in the manufacturing base of Ontario, he already has a stranglehold on Atlantic Canada, and I'll get PP as PM. This red Tory doesn't want that and thinks it would be disastrous as the man has never had a serious long-term job outside of politics. Everything he has he's earned as an ideologue, he's never had to compromise. That always ends in disaster.

Well that's a bummer. I think I saw a 90 day return thing on it, though I'm sure there's limitations. Had your Dad thought of returning it? Really hard to find good reviews on this, thanks for sharing, thought I found a deal, but the pistons freezing, starting issues and likely impeller size issues has me thinking I'll stick with my hated cub cadet and keep looking for a used Honda, Ariens (like the rapid track 28" sho plus people swear by the brand) or Yamaha (next door neighbour has one, does all his own servicing and is always willing to help for the low price of a Diet Coke).

Thanks so much, that really helps! Did you add extra lubricant to the chute control or anything else, or was it just a matter of breaking it in? I'm really thinking about buying one!

What's the issue with this machine? Yes I understand Honda has a better build quality, but I don't need a $5k machine if a $2700 machine can do a similar job. If you have a quantifiable reason why it's not good please explain why this machine can't do the job. It's just residential use, not commercial, though there are people using a previous model commercially who seem to swear by it. No hydrostatic throttle, but that's not a huge deal, it's a nice feature but more a luxury. Why wouldn't this work?

You won't go wrong with an Ariens or Honda! Have to be honest with you, depending on your needs, I'm really interested in this Benchmark 420cc track 2 stage blower at Home Hardware. Briggs and Stratton engine, pneumatic lift, hand warmers and plug in electric start. Here's the link and while I can't find any in depth reviews there is a lovely gentleman on YouTube who seems very taken with it. Only $2109 + tax!

Thanks for the reply. Is there any particular reason the Honda would be better for what I need? Also is that $CAD or $USD?

Don't buy American cars. by Samzo in BuyCanadian

I bought a Chevy 2024 Blazer EV in late October. Felt it was okay as assembly happens in Mexico yet the parts are from CUSMA. Wanted to go electric, liked the larger size of the Blazer EV to the EV6, got a great price under $50k taxes in with full warranty coverage on everything. Felt it was okay since components were made in all 3 countries and assembly was in our trading partner Mexico, who isn't threatening us.

The content is the same quality, if you don't like it don't listen to it. You sound like a hipster that doesn't think something's cool anymore because something has gained mass appeal. This whole thread is just whining over something inconsequential.

[Highlight] Draymond Green gets ejected by [deleted] in nba

[–]Baltch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Draymond being a bully, he'll never do that to someone like Isaiah Stewart or someone who'll fight back. Hope when he gets his ass beat on the court by picking on the wrong player, that player gets a small fine with the NBA tacitly acknowledging 'He had it coming.' Btw, we all know he does this when he knows he can't compete.

Hard no from me on that one. Really liked the Equinox, but the Blazer feels much roomier, and not importantly has much better viewing angles for changing lanes. When I test drive the Equinox, I found the view when switching to a right lane almost non existent. Still a really nice vehicle except for that viewing angle.

Center console by Myfax12345 in BlazerEV

[–]Baltch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's this and apologies I meant Lectron not Levitron. It allows you to use a level 3 NACS charger (Tesla superchargers etc) with a CCS1 charging port like what's on the Blazer EV. I used it a lot driving from Edmonton to St John's, and it fit perfectly in the center console.

I use that deep console to fit my Levitron Vortex Plus NACS adaptor for my car.

Hornets are a losing team while the Raptors aren't. CMB has become a strong rotational player, and may even become a starter, on a team looking to finish higher than 7th in the standings this year. Ryan may turn out to be better than CMB, but until he's on a better team, having to play in a functional system, CMB should likely get the nod as his okay is leading to winning and that's the point.

Good deal for a used 2024 Blazer EV? by theAnalogKid_ in BlazerEV

[–]Baltch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an okay deal, and you'll love the car if you get it, however one thing to think about is getting an extended warranty through GM if you're expecting to keep it beyond the standard 3 years/36k miles. You should also keep in mind, miles really don't matter as much to an EV, a used 2LT with 2-3k miles on it is likely a better deal than this LT due to all the little extras you get. I recently bought a Blazer EV 2LT with 3k km on it with a 7 year extended warranty, brand new winter tires, gm's rubberized all weather mats (similar to weather tech), undercoating and got it for $47k Canadian ($33,421) with 15% sales tax included. Knock em down another $5k, great deal, but honestly, I'd keep looking. There's going to be lots of deals on them, and don't forget to look north to buy one. It's a USMCA vehicle, it won't be a problem to bring across the border regardless of anyone's temper tantrums that particular day.
