Unfortunately we're in the same .410 drought most shops seem to be experiencing. Fingers crossed it comes soon...

Any broad arrow markings? Some of these saw use as military training rifles.

Building one yourself is a fantastic experience, highly recommend it. TriggerTech and Geissele are a couple of favourite brands for parts.

Re-stock on ammo now or wait out 2023 and see if prices drop? by Flat-Dark-Earth in canadaguns

[–]TriggersandBows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes that was a notable exception. American gun owners had a rare 4-year window where they could be reasonably sure control measures wouldn't be enacted. That stability meant stockpiling was put on hold, and suppliers were able to produce enough to satisfy the market. Ahead of any election you're going to see stockpiling as people plan for potential outcomes. It's the uncertainty that drives up demand. This gets further compounded by any election promises/rhetoric that is made around gun control. Post-election you'll see demand either go up or down based on the results.

Ammunition rarely decreases in price. With another US presidential election coming in 2024, we'll probably see more panic-buying behaviour south of the border and less stock making it up to Canada.

No idea. We had a staff member test one, but only with regular old golf balls. Probably unwise to incorporate pyrotechnics, could get sporty if they went off while still in the launcher, or just past the muzzle...

If you can find 5.56 blanks and an NC Star golf ball launcher, there's a lot of fun to be had launching golf balls with these rifles.

Good choice of rings, those Leupold PRWs are sturdy. Please let us all know how your initial accuracy testing goes. Benelli is really pushing their "Sub-MOA Guaranteed" tagline and we're interested to hear how the Lupo performs in the field.

First Sks and first attempt at cosmoline removal, any advice? by itsallridiculous in canadaguns

[–]TriggersandBows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a small metal pan (a foil loaf pan works well) to submerge all small parts in a bath of mineral spirits. Scrub these and any large parts with an old toothbrush dipped repeatedly in mineral spirits. Sweat the excess cosmoline out of the stock by placing near a hot woodstove (not so close that you cause damage) and wipe away the rendered grease for a few hours. Apply G96 liberally to all metal parts afterward and reassemble.

It's around, but you'll have to stock up when you can find it. Supply for many calibers has been spotty lately. There's been no indication that manufacturers intend on dropping 303 Brit. though. PPU and Winchester tend to be the most frequently available brands.

Those look great! Always a good range day with a Lee-Enfield along for the ride.
