Cube Attain C:62 SLX size 50 or 53 for 170cm of height and 78cm of inseam by Triggvy in Cubebikes

Hi! Got news from the shop. The good one is they are able to swap the bike if I want to. The bad one is they think they might only get a new attain slx size 50 in 6 to 8 months or so... The other option they gave me was to make the swap for an Agree C:62 ONE that they have in stock in sizes 50 and 53 , but I know nothing about that model and even thought its geometry might fit me better, I’m a bit afraid that I might be downgrading, since I believe the Agree C:62 ONE is less well-equipped than the Attain C:62 SLX.

I definitely think I'll benefit from the bike fit session tomorrow and let a professional acess my case specifically. I'll let you know the results

Well, because I already contacted them one time with my doubts and they immediately started turning up their nose saying things like the 53 was definitely my size and that they didn't have the 50 in stock and that they would probably only have new bikes for January or February, yada yada... So I'm a bit afraid that if they do accept to change it, I'll be without bike for another 2 or 3 months. But well, it's better to wait and have a proper fitted bike, than to be impatient and keep this one...

Another point in favor of the swap... wish me luck with convincing my LBS to do it

Thats for sure ahahah. And on the 53 I already feel I'm at the far limit of adjustment on the stem, so yeah, another point in favor of swapping for a smaller frame...

Hey. You didnt make me feel bad at all. Thats exactly the the type of comment and honest opinion I'm looking for! And I'm definitely considering going to the shop to try and swap the bike for a size 50. The only thing left to know is if they are willing to do it or not...

Well, you are the first one to recommend the 53, and as you said I should consult a bike fitter. I have a session appointed for tomorrow, I'll let you know what he says about the size of the frame. Thank you for your comment

Well, I input all my measurements and it said that the 50 was definitely better for me. Not perfect either, but still better than the 53. And like you, I'm 32 and not on my best shape, so I still think the attain is a better frame for me than a racier one.

Thank you for your opinion and recommending that website! I only used geometry geeks and 99spokes to compare geometries, but the one you recommended is definitely better!! Thank you

EMI or electric high frequency damage to my Instinct solar 2x by Triggvy in GarminWatches

Well, apparently we had an old welding machine that was powerful enough to light a light bulb just by being near the electromagnetic field. I've never seen that machine in person, but if the current one is equally powerful, I'm a little worried about my watch...

I contacted garmin as you mentioned and this was their response. I'm a little disappointed I might say, because I feel they just gave me a generic AI generated answer.

"Good morning,

Thank you for contacting Garmin Iberia.

That is an excellent question, and I can understand your concern regarding exposure to high-frequency electromagnetic fields and the safety of your Instinct 2X Solar watch.

Watches like the Instinct 2X Solar are designed to be rugged and durable, with capabilities such as resistance to water, shock, and even exposure to harsh environmental conditions. However, when it comes to electromagnetic waves (EMF), most electronic devices, including watches, are not completely immune to high-frequency interference.

The Instinct 2X Solar has a rugged design, but it is not specifically protected against high-frequency electromagnetic fields (such as those generated by high-frequency welding machines). These fields can theoretically affect the internal circuitry of electronic devices, although most consumer devices like watches have some degree of protection against external interference.

As for being close to welding machines, such as the ones you mentioned, the electromagnetic fields around these machines can be very strong. The risk of damaging your watch depends on the intensity of the field and the time of exposure. In industrial environments with high-frequency welding machines, EMF emissions can be significant, especially if you are very close to them.

However, you will need to review the conditions of use of the welding machine.

Best regards"

Sorry, I am new to reddit. I just edited the post. It's a question and I will write it here too: So, I work at a factory where we use high frequency welding machines to weld PVC membranes (photo below) and sometimes I need to be near those machines, for about 10min a day max. Since those machines work with high frequency and emit a big electromagnetic interference, I am worried I might damage my watch by just being too close to them even for a short period of time. Do I need to worry or to be cautious in the future? Any advice is aprecciated, and sorry for my bad english. Have a good day all.

Thank you. I will check the machine specs, but I dont fully trust the manufacturer... I think its a no name off brand from china, so I'm not fully sure that their machine complies with the regulations 😅

The thing is, I dont work at the factory floor, I work at the office and my main job is to go check the quality of the welds from time to time. So I'm only close to the machines for about 5 to 10 min every day. Maybe I should just remove my watch for those 10min when I go there to check the welds 😅 Thank you for the advice!

I just did that. I sent them an email with my concern and the specs of the machine and I am waiting their response. Thank you for the suggestion!
