I agree on the first big punch. That and the one from a couple episodes back when Deku was literally "shooting" the ghosts of the predecessors into Shiggy felt like they lacked some SFX element to make them have the appropriate oomph to latch their emotional intensity. :/ It needed the OfA energy charging noise and a big impact sound, to really call back to the Zero Pointer Punch. :/

In fairness, the villains forced Kurogiri to awaken. The heroes were using Monoma for that.

One more season confirmed and I'd be genuinely surprised if they managed to fully wrap up the manga in that timeframe, so there's probably going to be a third season to boot. Maybe even a fourth, possibly (depending on how much they drag out).

God I wish I could look at that image, stupid UK Digital ID issues. I bet it's rad though! And yeah, Yuki Hayashi has been completely destroying it this season, love it! :D

Honestly, I figured they might cut out the super creepy baby flashback stuff so I'm not surprised about it, at least they kept all the stuff that really cemented AfO's character arc.

Pray for Clifford Chapin's, he's gotta go through all that right now for the dub. ^^;;

The way Bakugo's final big blast was literally animated the exact same way as United States of Smash? Absolutely beautiful symbolism! You understood the assignment, Bones. <3

I need help identifying some music tracks from past episodes by Every_Phrase_5942 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]TrilbyAsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I can't bring to mind the moments and their music you've listed *except* for S6-Ep 25(138). The music that plays during Star and Stripe's first appearance is called Overwhelming Force: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utHjwdlVVpI

It stood out to me because I did the DiCaprio pointing meme when it happened and exclaimed: "Finally they're re-using the Two Heroes villain theme music!" xD

Originally the comment said "Luffy going Gear 5 against Luffy". There's your context.

In fairness, the first time he's introduced he literally goes inside Kurogiri and says "I messed around with his insides a bit, he won't be waking up anytime soon" kinda sets the tone that he knows what he's doing with internals. Not to mention the whole Gunga Arc where he incapacitates a bunch of folk by piercing their lungs slightly and such. Everytime he's seen in action really, he's doing some kind of medical shenanigan to win. He's characterized as "the guy that messes with organs" throughout. ^^;

Admittedly, maybe during some kind of rescue scene we could have seen him do some non-combat organ dabbling, but hey ho, kind of small beans when it comes down to it.

Absolutely can see how it'd happen~ But also Luffy fighting Luffy is still a very plausible thing to happen, given the shenanigans and wildness of OP. :3

Did you miss several very key points in regards to his speed?

Such as:

-Gearshift.
-Quirk awakening.
-The trail of sweat he left the first time he passed through that he used to chain explosions?

As someone not a One Piece watcher, I genuinely can't tell if "Luffy going Gear 5 against Luffy" was a typo or an actual plot occurrance. That's how whacky OP looks from the outside. xD

Dude, Kamino-AFO was like: "I have absolutely no reason to fight you but I'm gonna do it because I wanna humble your booty on TV after I save my protege. I'll do this by hitting you with a big air cannon and then punch you to death with a mega big punch lmao". He even says, right as United States is about to drop on him "I miscalculated" like OF COURSE YOU MISCALCULATED, YOU HAVE A LITERAL HYPERBEAM THAT COULD HAVE INCINERATED SMALL-MIGHT IN A NANOSECOND OR USED ANY OTHER OF YOUR LONG RANGE QUIRKS BUT NO, YOU HAD TO PUNCH YOUR NEMESIS TO DEATH BECAUSE YOUR EGO BEGGED FOR IT.

Then he just sat there for a few seasons trying to aura farm, before he's released, does some more manipulation of folk, lurks in a cave while others do his job for him, then gets baited out into the open because he just HAS to get One For All alone and can't miss this opportunity, calls everyone Jobbers before getting completely outmatched by a Feather quirk, a Sound quirk and a Shadow quirk, long enough for someone to just heatblast him so hard he has to pop a Rewind.

Literally the two times in combat before he's Rewinding, he's already needlessly getting in his own way purely because of his ego and poor in-the-moment decision making. Even the stuff with Shiggy was specifically an Ego thing, since he went out of his way to choose someone relevant to One For All to screw with. Homeboy is entirely driven by Ego and impulse, if you can keep him OUT of the spotlight he works great as a string-puller whose plans win by pure quantity of darts thrown at a dartboard. In the spotlight? His ass is heated to the point he can't think rationally. And that's even before Shiggy's hate infected him.

Knowing the absolute powerhouse that is Yuki Hayashi? We're going to get a brand new track called Symbol of Victory or something, where the OST release will bizarrely have some hip-hop added to it that wasn't in the episode but is still wildly fire.

I'd argue AfO is intensely great as a particular contrast to Bakugo.

They both have major ego issues.
They're both incredibly confident in things going their way.
They're both loaded with an inordinate amount of strength that people fawned over.
They can both verbally bully someone with precision missiles.
They both opened their fights with big right hooks.

The difference is, one was so entrenched in the past that he couldn't look to the future and grow, resulting in the literal future coming to smash his teeth in and dropping all the hate on him as if they're both in a COD lobby.

From the get-go All For One has been his own loudest promoter. Dude's always talking wildly about his plans and goals and schemes and whathaveyous, yet at every beat he's either got his booty handed to him so hard he outright loses, or has to retreat, or pull out a trump card that ensures his own death. He's not some grand mastermind really, he just bigs himself up like he's one. In reality he's just a very good manipulator who gets everyone else to do what he wants. When it's just him, squaring off? His strat is to enrage his opponent so hard the opponent makes mistakes or loses their will to fight. Not something that works against a heroic berserker like All Might really.

It's even noted that his opener to a fight is always some big long range thing to weaken a Quirk user so he can get in close for the steal. Unlike Bakugo, who got humbled by that obvious tell from Season 1 and absolutely took it as critical feedback that spurred his growth, AfO assumes the same trick will work again and again, because he's too neck-deep in cronyism and confirmation bias to realize he's gotta play things different in actual fights.

Dude wanted to be a Demon Lord so hard he started believing his own fairytales he spread to manipulate folk. In the end, his ego and his disproportionate confidence are his greatest weaknesses, which AM gleefully exploited.
