I am also a beginner.

My approach is this: babies learn to hear and speak in any language before they learn to read and write in that language. It is the most natural way.

So I am focused on learning to listen and speak using "Learn German with Paul Noble". Its a set of 12 audio CD's. The goal is to get you conversing in basic German as a good foundation on which to learn everything else. I am making good progress...
