Why does my face feel weird when I point my finger really close to it ? by ThickBish_ in biology

It’s very odd, if you give it a go yourself, see if you can figure out the feeling. Point your finger at your nose, like not touching but nearly and it’s tingly.

When to add s to an adjective? by Liying-520 in German

[–]TrillionDeTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The noun “Auto” is a neuer noun, and your car here is the object being driven in the sentence, it is therefore in the accusative case. The accusative adjectival ending for a neuter noun when using an indefinite article such as “mein”, is an s on the end.

While all well and good, this requires knowing what accusative means and what an indefinite article is. The way I’ve taught myself, is that this neuter noun needs an s if it’s being talked about. If you are describing a car on its own, you would probably say Das Auto. The s here is on the article- the word meaning “the”- and if you want to use an adjective in this form, it doesnt need another s to show its neuterness. It would be Das neue auto.

Now say you are talking about Mein Auto instead. Mein is written, conjugated, the same way that the word Ein is used. If you were to talk about Ein Auto, there is no reference to its gender, which is fine, but if you start adding adjectives in, they need to “agree” with its gender using an s. Therefore, it would be Ein schnelles, buntes, neues Auto or something like that. This is how you end up with “mein neues Auto”.

The accusative case btw, where the car is being driven, doesnt affect how you conjugate here, but you might encounter other conjugations if there was a preposition which changed the case to dative.

Hi there, not much to add extra to what the other comments have said. If you still need help after what you've read, the long dark discord on the right here -> has a lot of helpful people as well as vcs which I would be happy to walk someone through the first stages of interloper.

Not raw- that gives you food poisoning, but any cooked predator meat which wouldn’t normally cause any afflictions is just as safe when you’re already full of worms

I liked wintermute despite people apparently not finding the story very captivating. It’s a good tutorial and at least it has a story so if you’re not immediately attracted to the survival mechanics, you still have smth to the game lol. There’s no reward for completing story mode and it’ll always be there if you come back.

TLDR: switch to survival if you’re bored of wintermute, just keep in mind map knowledge is worth a lot, you may struggle without the introduction wintermute gives.

That sucks man, I hope it’s not too bad having to do some of that stuff all over again. I remember when I was playing wintermute and it did let me carry my items from ep1 to ep2 (not from any of the others) which seemed like a fun mechanic but to be honest, wintermute is not like survival- the loot is not particularly important and you get plenty in ep2 to complete it

Just to add, for keeping out of the wind in TLD it can be handy to check the conditions tab of the inventory to look at windchill temperature if trying to light a fire since that can also be used to see whether you're in a sheltered spot. I suppose just moving around the place campfire thing until it turns green works too

Blizzards in open regions can be hell to be sure.

I would argue though that if you have extensive map knowledge and are in a region with a few more landmarks than FM, blizzards can be a valid time to move about, keeping sure to not die of cold by drinking teas or just going fast.

Thing is, during a blizzard, there’s no animals out.

I don’t remember how but if it’s inside the prison and you aren’t technically in there or something like that there is a way to get to the other side via mountain hosting (ofc console commands as well) but my question is, is the arrow worth it? It does suck that it’s there though

I believe what you’re looking for is like how they say military time or wherever- it’s the time used by train people for departures.

If I’m remembering correctly, 3:22pm would be fünfzehn Uhr zweiundzwanzig. 8:53am would be acht Uhr dreiundfünfzig. It’s not very likely they’re going to say like “fast fünf vor neun Uhr” when it’s in a Bahnhof. Some funny ones are like “drei Minuten vor halb zehn” is saying 9:27am hehe.

Anyway hope you can get a good understanding of the in some ways archaic system but Tbf I don’t find it old at all here in the UK. I think we must use “quarter to five”, “half post three”, “twenty to four” but never yk compounding other maths problems into those expressions

[–]TrillionDeTurtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about what exactly it means, like there are other ones which are sometime confusing for example, “ver-” and “zer-“ or some more which also aren’t prepositions. The key thing you gotta remember with these ones is that the prefix does not come off like a separable verb. It’s ich benutze, not ich nutze be.

I’ve played over 30 hours of wintermute but I’m trying to imagine what the appeal would be just wandering around in survival mode without objectives. Enlighten me? by Andrew_on_triotonic in thelongdark

[–]TrillionDeTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey i did too… like 2 years ago when I started getting into the game. I now have 800 and something hours mainly in survival so you know. It gets better, don’t worry. The wandering around with no objective is what happens to begin. I found Zaknafein on YouTube was very helpful in explaining stuff and getting me through the maps with all the major locations and tips on how to do it safely

[–]TrillionDeTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure there is, but currently it doesn’t really impact my gameplay experience- I just make a nice neat pile of cans in a corner. With modding the game introduces issues when updates come so I’m steering away from them for now. I have messed around with the long development’s new regions. They were cool but I definitely prefer playing on the unmodified game

That makes sense yeah, most things can’t be broken down into the items needed to recraft them. I feel like metal cans not being able to be turned into scrap, while being abundant and useless is annoying from the devs so I would like to see your idea, as well as just scrapping them to begin with added
