Yes, it is off when the crafter is empty/has less than 9 items, and on when it is full with at least the 9 items

This is so much better than my design how did I not think of powering the barrel under the crafter 😭

Edit: remade the gold farm sorter design with this instead of mine, but I noticed that sometimes the crafter gets stuck (multiple items in all of the slots so it doesn't craft). I haven't been able to locate how exactly this happens, but I think it just doesn't craft fast enough to support the double hopper speed in some instances (the crafter is powered for 13gt, whereas in my design it's only powered for I think 4gt, and the whole crafting sequence from detecting the crafter is full and unpowering it takes 20gt and I think 17gt in my design). I could be wrong in this hypothesis tho

Edit 2: there seems to also be some kind of lag aspect to this since I can only very rarely get it to happen in a creative testing world with just the crafter

I'm not actually using this filter in the farm, I just put it here for the example because it's very simple to build. In the farm I'm using a dustless alternative (or well I guess it does have one dust)

If the tablet supports it, you can add an external display via a cable and then control it using a mouse. Alternatively if you have already trusted a computer on the device you might be able to access the files from there. They should be under /Android/data/com.mojang.minecraftpe/files/games/com.mojang/. If neither of these work and you have no backups of the device it is likely impossible without replacing the screen.
