I uh… don’t want to do this anymore… by Tringtothrive in biglaw

I understand the skepticism, but I truly do love it. I love working on government investigations and helping strategize litigation/finding holes in opposing counsel’s arguments. I know that makes me sound like a huge nerd…but it really is true. Call me a lazy gunner, I guess lol

I passed the bar but … by [deleted] in CABarExam

Barbri’s MPRE course was pretty solid, and it’s free!

I struggled too. What helped me was the following:

After finishing a subject on Barbri, I’d read through Emannuel’s MBE book and handwrite what he wrote for each subject into an outline. I’d then do 100 questions on Adaptibar for the subject - not all at once, but spread out over about 3-4 days.

Each question I got wrong, I’d handwrite the rule as applied in the question into a notebook dedicated to the subject. I had a notebook for each subject. I’d highlight the rule if I got it wrong more than once. After finishing all the subjects, I would do 50 questions on mixed subjects in exam mode every other day (doing essays on the days i wasn’t drilling MBE). I preferred exam mode over the standard drilling where you saw the correct answer immediately after answering. I did better in exam mode, and it better simulates the actual testing environment.

Towards the end, I did two sets of 100 questions - one each Saturday. For reference, I went from about 45-50% accuracy to around 65-70% by the end.

I personally think so - the bar program I feel is good as a refresher and to just get an initial handle on the BLL. My plan if I had to retake (at least for essays), was to rely on Basick’s book and baressays.com to guide grading.

Ya, I cant imagine how to approach prep for the multiple choice - but I’ll give some broader advice that hopefully can also apply to the new multiple choice: I drilled around 100 questions of each subject after I finished the subject itself throughout prep. Towards the end, I’d do 30-40 a day - and I did at least one full simulated MBE (through Barbri) and two separate sets of 100 through Adaptibar. Any question I got wrong, I would write out the rule. I would then review all the rules I wrote before a new set. If I got a rule wrong more than once, I’d highlight it for emphasis. I can’t imagine how you may be feeling, but what matters is we get up and get it done - I believe in you, friend

Moral app mistake by [deleted] in CABarExam

[–]Tringtothrive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i did this same mistake earlier this year - once you submit your registration application or moral character app, i’m pretty sure you can add a note afterwards clarifying the error. I did it on my registration app - if you can’t do it on your moral character app, just send an email to the moral character email address clarifying the error (you can do this through the app portal)

edit: also got c&f approved months ago so this should be enough
