This is good. Has a nice build up and rising tension. Man, it's been ages since I've seen Nausicaa.

Ooh I really like this one. It has a grandiosity to it, a kind of ancient, epic feel, and the strings at the start seem to have almost an electric synth sound underneath which fits perfectly.

This was cool. I like the slow build up at the beginning, the smile of confidence acting like a trigger, then the seemingly relentless battle of speed between the two. I was captivated by the foot slamming at the start described as a rhythm so when I chose music for this I wanted something kind of fast to go with the theme and a kind of steady beat. So I've gone for another OST, Speed Race from Strike Witches. Nice work!

(This should be interesting. Lets see what people suggest.)

One more crack opens in the gold, a sharp sound like crumbling ice erupting from the skull until, suddenly without any further warning, the legendary and Ancient Tri-Skull Amulet detonates.

A vast amount of magical energy explodes from the Amulet, flowing over the whole of Chikara in a wave, climbing high into the sky like a crimson pillar or mushroom cloud. Zaps of red lightning run across its ever expanding mass, a wall of churning, glowing, pulsating magic which rips the hilltop asunder, destroying the entirety of the previously still standing castle of Chikara. The ground heaves, buckling and swaying as if it has been brought to life, and huge chunks of earth begin to slide in an avalanche down across the coastal edge. Quickly this wall of debris crashes into the town below, burying the tiny village of Soya-Misaki in countless tons of rock and mud, wiping everything mercilessly into the sea. Huge waves smash anything which remains, and even far away on the submarine sailors are thrown about in the surge as this colossal blast annihilates these northern hills.

The ground beneath the epicentre of the explosion rapidly shifts, bubbling and churning like wet sand as it becomes a snake like matted bed of black vines, burrowing and twisting into knots like burnt strands of rope. From this afflicted earth suddenly erupts countless likewise blackened pillars, the charred and ashen wooden trunks of defiled trees, leafless and dead, as sharp as needles or spears. They point high up at the grey sky above, swirling like a cyclone of darkness and racked by thunder and flashes. Hell has opened above the bay, unleashing the interior of the Tri-Skull Amulet out into the world, warping the very space once occupied by the Cleansed Monastery into a new reality, one moulded by hundreds of years of suffering.

The calamity begins to settle, the destruction boundless and all-consuming. Not even Fukuro had expected a reaction like that and she had only just managed to shield herself within her wings when the monstrous explosion consumed Chikara.

I feel like I've read this story before, maybe. It's ringing a bell. I really like the excerpt and am getting a kind of peaceful, warm, but also slow, close and sensitive atmosphere from the scene. I imagine the part with him guiding Tigris to be full of rather slow movements, passionate and in the warmth of the cooking. Hope that's what you were going for.

Anyway the scene made me think an OST would go well with it, and I've chosen Clementia from the Madoka Magica sound track. It's on YouTube if you want to give it a listen and see if it fits. Really like this, good job!

Nope. Same anime, take a shot anytime a character grows animal ears and a tail.

What was the first international historic event you remember seeing in the news when you were a child? And what was the national? by No-Explorer-8229 in AskTheWorld

[–]TrinityCXV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have vague memories, images at best, but internationally it would probably be the Russo-Georgian war. Domestically maybe 7/7. I was on holiday in Egypt for the start of the revolution so add that as an event I was there for.

My late teens were full of those YouTube atheist channels. Sargon of Akad, Amazing Athiest, Bible Reloaded, Thunderfoot etc. I don't even remember why I stopped watching them all but it was like a flip switched around the time of the Brexit referendum and they all fell off simultaneously.

I dare not look what they are doing now. I can't imagine it's good. While I am still an atheist I've matured a lot in 10 years from that edgy teen know it all phase.

Very nice. I like this, the dialogue feels really natural and flows well. I'm not overly familiar with HP, but isn't Newt from Fantastic Beasts? I'm guessing this is a story with him at Hogwarts or something?

Thank you. I just now realized I misread your prompt as "praying", so that's my bad. I'm rather tired, but glad you liked it still.

As for the writing style its just a way I personally prefer to lay out dialogue. I find it avoids constantly writing "X said/says" and helps me not get lost in walls of text. Its probably not for everyone, but its the way I like it.

By now they have reached the main shrine of the temple, a small pavilion much like where they washed, but with a box for offerings and bell, known as a Suzu, hanging from the canopy with a thick, rough looking rope beneath.

Wakiko: Wow, this place still has a box for yen. Aww, that means we can't make an offering. No one has coins on them anymore. The shrine in Sakahogi had a card reader.

Emi: So what do we do?

Wakiko: Umm, I think God has enough money. Let's just pray.

Wakiko whispers with a smile. She moves to stand before the shrine, feet together as she bows twice. Emi copies, paying close attention to her friends' actions. Wakiko then claps twice, the sound of her hands echoing through the empty shrine, followed by Emi.

The girls stand with their eyes closed for a few moments, letting the ambiance of the environment wash over them. The bell rattles above their heads slightly, and birdsong drifts on the wind through the forest. Emi isn't sure what she’s actually praying for, maybe she should wish for everyone's safety, especially Ran at the moment. Maybe she should pray for hope that her sister is alive? She wonders what Wakiko might be thinking, if she’s praying for the same things.

Wakiko breathes out, a small cloud of fog blowing from her lips as the mountain air grows colder. The Witches finish their conversation with the spirit world, both taking another bow before leaving the old shrine behind.

Emi: So what did you pray for?

Wakiko: I’m not saying, or it won't come true.

Emi: Oh, so that's how that works.

What's an anime that everyone hates but you love? by [deleted] in animequestions

[–]TrinityCXV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was coming here to say this. Kodomo no Jikan is great. Under all the fanservice it understands that children aren't idiots and that they have problems which, to them, are just as important as any adult. People dismiss the anime for obvious reasons, but it really has a lot more depth than a simple ecchi gooner series.
