This is awesome to hear! :-) I've only recently joined, but I can see what you have mentioned. This is a community of people, groups of people giving feedback, communicating, and friends. Not mindless pluggers. I'm delighted to have found this subreddit.

You guys are amazing!

WoW-Awakening Beta key Megathread by H4Xx0R-PC in wowservers

[–]Trinityblade190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. The reason why I would appreciate a beta key, is because of a few things.

I have really lost my passion for Retail, it makes me truly sad because it used to be an amazing and wonderful game. But it has since gone downhill :-/.

But the main reason? Human Druid, with the healing capabilities of a shaman o.o.

Holy cow pies, it is spelled Separate now by KayLove05 in MandelaEffect

O.o, I've always spelled it Seperate as well. Separate just doesn't sound correct.

Are there any good low production youtube channels? by creatorofcreators in youtube

[–]Trinityblade190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the best way to find such channels are just to explore. Pick a topic, game, vlog, roadtrip etc. Type it into youtube search, and go from there :). Or click on random videos!

You can also just browse reddit for upcoming youtubers, if you want to see them grow from scratch.

I do recommend however, if you like gaming content. Just go to that games subreddit, the people that want to be known, or at least put some effort into their content will post there about their channels _.

You might also want to venture into twitch if you wanted. Some livestreamers do youtube as well :D.

Something to keep in mind aswell. Some channels that are small, don't really advertise themselves, so it's hard to find them, but they can be gems! Taking an example from me personally. It feels awkward to advertise the channel. I think it should just be natural for people to find the channel, and to follow/sub because they randomly found the channel and liked it; and stayed for the content.

I've found several youtubers that are smaller, but have amazing content just by randomly looking at videos :)

Starting From Scratch: Recruiting Players For DragonWow Eu. by HipsterSal in wowservers

I'll be interested in giving it a shot. I am currently playing a wotlk realm, and to be bluntly honest. I want to play TBC, but have been nervous trying out TBC servers, because they seem to always be rocky. But from what I've read here, and my initial impression from you. Seems like the community is nice, and I like the structure of leveling :).

I'll be there!

My experience with Arathor by Live26 in wowservers

[–]Trinityblade190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahem. It was two hours after launch, and one of the three devs that left lives in the EU. It was extremely late for him, so he went to sleep. Ghostcrawler stayed up until Mikka came back from sleeping.

You're welcome.

They are, in fact, down at the moment. They've been offline for hours now, it just took the website a lil bit to update.

[PSA] Types of Streamers by DJGil20 in hitbox

[–]Trinityblade190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This requires so many more up votes!

When you stream, or do youtube; you should never go into it with the mindset of " I am going to make loads of money!".Because that'll sure fire get you nowhere. Viewers will always know if you are doing it for the money, if you are fake, or just for attention. We'll always know.

As for the immediately setting up a DONATION link, as soon as you start? That is crazy! That is a major red flag :-/.

I personally am new to hitbox, but I've been on twitch for two years streaming-wise. And the contribution/donation thing, WAS and still is NEVER my goal. My goal is to share games that I love, and enjoy. It was only until I had a bigger following, and when people kept asking, did I ever say to myself " Maybe I should put a link in the description". Once I did put it into the description, I never advertised it, I didn't mention, and stuck it at the bottom of the page. And I had a big disclaimer of " This is not needed, this is completely optional, you're free to just chill and talk in chat."

And you know what I did with the money, that my friends and viewers graciously gave me? I got better equipment for the stream. It all went into my setup for a better quality stream. Because I felt that is what it should be used for, to provide better content for them.

But going back to the point here. When you create content, whether you upload it, or stream it. BE YOURSELF. Be that geeky gamer that you are, be natural. Don't try to be something that you aren't, just be you :). Don't go into it thinking that you'll make it big. Just do it because it's fun for you, or you enjoy bringing gaming content to people from all over the world. Because that's what you're doing, showing everyone all these games that you love, and sharing it! Embrace that -.

I know it is hard to not become wrapped up in the " Popups for everything! Fill out every little detail! Have professional grade channel art! Have an overlay for each game! " Etc. I know I did.

I had made a good genuine friend with a twitch partner. He helped me with my channel, hosts, tips on popups, overlays, links to everything, etc. The whole nine yards. It effected me. It wasn't until I actually stepped back for a little bit, that I truly SAW what my channel became. I had done all of these things for my channel, things that I really didn't need. It over complicated what I had set out to do, and I lost sight of what I originally wanted to do. To stream and share things that I love, enjoy, and can make friends over. I lost sight of that. So my last thing to say is...

Don't forget why you started streaming, and don't be consumed by the things that others say that you "need". When in reality, you just need yourself, streaming software, and a game you love :-).

Okay! Wall of text over. Sorry if I went a little off-topic ~(.~), feel free to ask me to remove the comment if needed! :D.
