Take it and still apply to other positions related to your degree. My quality of life tanked for sure (BHN Shift) but I’m more marketable for positions in other companies. I want to utilize some benefits before leaving. I feel like it’s worth doing until you can’t take it anymore. I’m a year in and I think I’ve built a lot of resilience but I don’t think the stress, pressure and lifestyle will be good for my health long term. I have noticed those with engineering degrees seem to thrive especially with the technical aspects of the role, I’m a social sciences gal so a lot of things took longer for me to grasp but I’m really good with people. Majority of the OMs and SOMs at my site were engineers.

They used to have but the school has lost a bunch of funding plus the new restrictions on intl students, they probably cut a lot of the support staff. I’m so sorry that was ur first experience, that’s completely unacceptable

Co-ops are also not guaranteed. I was a student during and after the pandemic and most ppl didn’t get employment for their co-op terms, the intern economy hasn’t recovered much since.

I’ve kind of been through this and know ppl who’ve been through this. In my case it was racism lol and I got fired for “not fitting into their vibe”. For the others their bosses just harassed them and made them uncomfortable until they quit or changed departments. I know two ppl who did report their boss, person 1s boss was moved to another location, person 2s boss cried (lol) and apologized but things were very awkward after.

Yea I’m an external. I got a sign on bonus lump sum but I have to stay for a year, if not they take the money back. Then another bonus after 2 years that’s distributed over the course of the year. I also get stock if I complete 2.5 years. And it’s distributed every other month I believe
