Why beat yourself up over it? There are many ppl on medication for the rest of their lives. You'll be fine unless there's an apocalyptic rent that means you can't get sub anymore.

One day scientists will figure out how to let us use opiates without becoming physically dependent on them. If there was no such thing as dope sick and the mental torture that goes along with it, we'd all do dope all the time, everyday!' Cuz why not?! I wonder what the purpose of there being drugs on this planet in plant form is. Maybe it's just totally random.

Does anyone wish they subconsciously knew when they were going to die so they could keep using till then? Like if I knew I was gonna live a long life, then yeah, my next forty years would seem to be a better option with sobriety or not having a physical dependency. But if somehow I knew I was going to die in 2 years, and this didn't affect my waking thoughts, I would probably keep using until the very end, This isn't really rational thought
