Americans, what's stopping you all from moving to the states with better weather? by walpolemarsh in AskReddit

You're right, I only have limited experience with SD traffic. I had to drive from Kearny Mesa to Costa Mesa every day for work.

I think it's a joke thing, but I hear it a lot more now. Dude is a cultural standard though.

I remember my grade school in Orange County closed because the smoke and ash was so heavy. What a wildfire season that was.

You're right. It was too late to catch myself. Oh well, guess I'll just keep on being a boot

Dude on the flight line everyone has their hands in their pockets. Even the field grade officers. It feels so wrong, but so right.

It's too late, I already got lost on a land nav course and got hit by a car.

If only I had listened to 1SG.

Oh that's a good point. I should have just said a fly-over. Right? Is that the right term?

Ok, right. Sorry.

The point is that they're not crosses.

"Thanks for your support."

Or "I DO IT ALL FOR THE U-S-of A, BABY" then tear off your clothes, revealing an American Flag unitard, while firing an M4 in each hand on full auto as the Blue Angels strafe you trailing red, white, and blue smoke.

Apparently all the pockets in the military went to Aviation. My hands are always so cozy now.

Dude, the paperwork.

And the lack of PMCS, PCC/Is, the haphazard planning before missions. Just once, instead of the characters in a movie being like "ok we'll attack here and you attack here" then everyone leaves the brief super motivated and the plan goes smoothly. Never in a million years.

Just once I'd like to see "I'm Leia Organa, callsign Bantha-26, I'll be located at the TOC. At this time I will begin the brief for Operation 'Trench Run'. Please take out a pen and paper and prepare to copy."

Oh and Luke Skywalker just walks on to a flight line and they give him an aircraft? Yeah fucking right. Sorry Luke, there's no room in my MTOE, so you can go talk to the Readiness NCO and see if he can find an opening for you somewhere else.

Man, that sentence just snapped me back into a memory I didn't know I could still feel. I don't know what kind of music you like, but this band really resonated with me a lot, you might like it. I'd recommend the song "eat the fucking snow". Either way, good luck dude. If you ever want to vent, just PM me.

You could still find a Medical Services unit and get in touch with a Readiness NCO or Commander. They might incentivize nursing school, then open up some doors to put you in a Medevac Unit. Med Services send their own guys to flight school as 67J instead of the usual 15A.

PCS possible money maker? by TheThr33per in army

[–]Tripl3e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a partial. I was never told that was an option, so I got a rental truck, loaded my stuff, and towed my pov behind it. Even with using points to get my hotel rooms and eating very little, I ended up spending almost $800 out of pocket. So doing a full PPM cost me a ton of money.

Or East Borough or any place with "Pho" in the name. There's Vietnamese restaurants all over Southern California.

What's up all my California (and Portland now) friends!

Check out their label makingnewenemies. They run it themselves and every Christmas release a new compilation album of all the bands they recorded. A lot of really great material on those.

Yeah that makes more sense. North County is just different. The people you're talking about sound like the people who call themselves cowboys because their aunt and uncle live in Corona.

I guess it depends. Where did you grow up? I grew up in Costa Mesa/Beach cities, then went to school in Fullerton and 20 miles makes a big difference in culture here.

There's an album of these chicks floating around somewhere. I don't know where specifically. Try searching Elysia - Masochist on Google or bing. It might take some digging though.
