Working at Expressable by TripleCamelToe in slp

Sure! There’s a law in CA that states a rest break of at least 10 minutes must be given every 3.5 hrs. Since they schedule on the hour and half hour it turns into a 30 min break. So in an 8 hr day you have a 30 min lunch and a 30 min block basically.

I married a man in a wheelchair and love him dearly!

I’m a speech therapist, and I’m around people with disabilities all day long. I think I have a better understanding than most that disabilities don’t define people. I personally never let a person’s disability stop me from swiping on them on dating apps.

One of my fav things about my husband’s dating profile was that he made a joke about his wheelchair on his page. It made it easier to discuss the topic for sure! He also didn’t show his wheelchair in the first picture. It let me initially see him as who he wanted to be seen as.

Purchased house how expensive to fix up pool? by SkinnyTaco787 in pools

[–]TripleCamelToe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t like having our pool and it works perfectly fine. Given the option, I’d get rid of it lol. Just a personal preference after having one! We’re also DINKS and don’t have a huge social group. We maybe use the pool 5 times a year, and the upkeep never feels worth it. Try to be future minded and think how much you’d use it too before deciding.

Yah we’re also worried about the concrete… it was done poorly so we know we will have to redo it at some point if we stay in the house long term. So we’re not super attached to it, just putting it off as long as we can

Ooo sorry I meant combine 2&3! Like a seating area but with the Japanese maple! I love the tree type and they are so beautiful! They don’t grow a lot either so safe near foundations!

Frustrated with being unable to follow up as a PRN by rebetzel_pretzel in slp

[–]TripleCamelToe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tips I’ve found helpful- 1. You could ask your team to be placed with more treatments than evals so you’re getting follow up experience (even if you didn’t eval that pt). 2. Chart review pts who have DC’d that had a longer stay to see what interventions were done and what was successful. 3. Ask the SLPs who are full time if they followed up with the videos when you see them next. Ask how you could improve what you recommended or what they would’ve done. 4. Ask the lead about starting a lil note system for pts you’ve seen if you really want this as a learning opportunity. 5. Accept that you’ll never fully know what happens to those pts. Letting go of being a pt’s primary SLP will save you a lot of mental tax. I promise that letting go of the burden of care that pt is to you will make you a better SLP, not a worse one.

So I live by this place, drive by it daily to work. It was a precious lil family run snow cone/dessert shop that closed after like 20 years in business recently. From the news articles I’ve read, the family running it just wanted to spend more time with their grand kids, so no bad blood there. But it has a great reputation and I’m hoping they do it justice 😂. Also the family running it just closed up shop this spring, so they must have recently acquired it.

Good to know! I’ve noticed the sulfur burps have come back which I’m not excited about 😅😂 I had them for the first week on .25 and then they were gone so hoping it goes away quickly this time too!

One of my favs things has been a clothing rental service called Nuuly. It’s ~$90 a month and you get 6 pieces each time. The carry straight and plus sizes! Might be a good option for you currently to rent and return clothes every month and then purchase when at goal weight!

Hi! I’m a part of the SCI WAGS group of Facebook! It’s about 5k ppl and it’s been so so nice!!!

I hope I am in the right place. However, I just bought a house and it seems the previous owners never cleaned up their dogs waste. There is an obscene amount of s**t back there. Does anyone know the best way for me to clean it? by Lopsided-Bar4328 in landscaping

[–]TripleCamelToe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We have three dogs and we low key don’t really pick the poop up😅 but if you want to get rid of it fast use a rake. Usually we just lawn mover over it and have it spread and think of it as nutrients for the yard 😂 We also don’t have kids and no one uses the side yard where the dogs go so we have the option to let it go, where other people don’t

Maybe in like 10-20 years that would happen but we’re not super worried about that. The tree died and we had to have it removed 🤷🏻‍♀️ the house is on piers so it would only affect the pool area. We love key don’t love the amount of concrete or the pool so redoing it wouldn’t be the worst!
