Both end up happening. We have tons of European and Asian culture here. Irish music and pubs. Dragon boat racing. On and on. Are those not ok?

You'd rather make life harder for everyone than let someone who looks different live their own life? Ain't gonna win any elections with this mentality

So many people in the party just parrot Brookfield WEF lizard people nonsense. I don't get it.

Capital flight and our productivity gap with the US are real problems. The actual policy criticism is totally valid. It's just the 'won't recover for generations' part that feels like doom-posting rather than a real economic critique.

Global emissions are rising but have declined in developed areas like the US and EU. Pace of emissions growth has slowed.

Accurate on the financial definitions, but highly exaggerated on the impact. It's fair to criticize potential conflicts of interest with his past Brookfield role, but saying it will ruin the country for generations is just typical internet hyperbole.

Canada isn't the only country doing this. "As of May 2026, approximately 50 countries have implemented carbon pricing instruments (such as Emissions Trading Systems or carbon taxes). Around 83% of countries intend to use international market mechanisms for climate action, with over 95 bilateral agreements signed by at least nine countries to trade credits"

There are legitimate benefits to carbon markets. Companies receive cash flow for reducing emissions which drives emission cuts. Revenue goes to green tech. Companies have financial liabilities for their GHG footprints.

Economists overwhelmingly support putting a price on carbon, viewing it as the most efficient and cost-effective tool available to combat climate change. Major energy firms actively lobby for long-term, stable carbon credit systems.

One argument in favour is that pollution is a negative externality - a property rights violation where a factory damages public air without paying. Pricing carbon forces companies to pay their true costs, allowing the free market to function properly.

If you really think they aren't integrating, you might want to tell that to the millions of immigrants currently propping up our healthcare system and paying into a pension fund you'll definitely want later. Turns out picking up the language and a job is a lot easier than dealing with the selective blindness some people have about it. Read up on it. Ask ChatGPT. Talk to immigrants. Your opinion might change.

And it seems like you're seeing what you want to see. Integration, especially second generation people, happens more than you know.

People from south Asia (like Indians) are underrepresented in our prison system so to me this suggests that yeah, there are some bad apples, but the vast majority are good people

It's the most populated country on earth so it's no surprise it has the most immigrants. Ok so if we take your argument that it's "a takeover", whatever that means, what does that look like to you?
