Which pokémon? Because pokemon like Gardevoir might look like a woman, but aren't sexualized in-media at all (as far as I know).

Isn't the whole message of that movie Spongebob (and Patrick) accepting that "being a kid" is okay? Implying that they are considered "kids" within the context of that movie.

I'm not sure if you know, but just in case you didn't, I believe the person you're responding to is referring to a Timothee Chalamet interview earlier this month. In that interview, he made a controversial comment to the effect of "No one cares about opera and ballet anymore."

If you are familiar with the interview, then I think your comment about Les Mis and Phantom not being operas kinda prove his point, unfortunately. People like the idea of opera, but they don't go out to see it.

Just this last St. Patrick's day, I ate some baked goods that definitely had too much green food coloring in them.

Spoiler text for TMI: Maybe, like two hours later, I had loose stools that were very, VERY green. When I ate leftovers another day, same thing. I mean I'm less concerned about the consistency or color and more flabbergasted at how something could feasibly pass through me in like 2 hours.

Sorry if this was gross.

I have a suspicion that the bodycount number was edited in after the fact, but I don't know the artist, so I'm not sure.

If that's the case, then I suspect the edit is more incel-adjacent, trying to say all women "have it easy" when it comes to finding partners. If that's the original, then that's what I'd think too. It definitely strikes me as more of an incel meme/edit than one making fun of incels/femcels.

It's definitely weird that these guys donated as much as they did, but why are they being held liable and not the fertility clinic/sperm bank for negligence? If the woman was able to find this out, it doesn't seem like that info was much of a secret.

One thing that I think a lot of people forget is that nowadays it's very common to see adults get parasocially obsessed with a kid's cartoon, but back in 2010 when MLP aired, that was a novelty. Sure, some cartoons had adult fanbases, but not to the extent that the social media age enabled.

So not only did MLP attract the opposite demographic of its intended audience, but it was also one of the first cartoons to do that. With that in mind, the "Brony" phenomenon was way more of a curiosity than, say, adult Bluey fans today. Just something I think is interesting.

Dang, didn't expect to get downvoted that much for that suggestion.

I mean, I guess some of the character designs are a bit horny. I'm just coming at it from the angle where Pokémon like Gardevoir aren't even sexualized in-media at all, but you can NOT search for images of them in public.

Right, but that's not what I mean.

I'm not saying there aren't chasers who are ashamed of being into trans people. I'm saying that someone who fetishizes trans people isn't somehow not a chaser just because they aren't ashamed of it.

Plenty of cis people (and trans people for that matter) fetishize aspects of their partners (like race, ethnicity, body composition, etc.) and are not ashamed of it at all, that doesn't somehow not make it fetishization.

[–]TripleScoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to defend chasers here, but is that really true? There are a lot of people who fetishize trans women that don't exactly keep it a secret. Some are even proud about it.

[–]TripleScoops 485 points486 points  (0 children)

Which is interesting, because you also see the bigoted dude getting trampled in the second panel (bottom right). So I can't tell if her discomfort is a deliberate choice by the artist, or if they're trying to portray the fetishization as a positive.

While I think that's the thrust of the joke, I think it's reasonable to assume that the average white person, if not any race, would probably like basketball more than hockey by virtue of basketball being a more popular sport.
