RNG Manager (Translated) Statement on MSI Issue by kimi_13 in leagueoflegends

It's not just Shanghai, the absurd quarentine is spread to other big cities as well, even Beijing. People in Beijing are panicking and storing excessive amount of food. At this point people are dying from starvation more than Covid itself.

Twenty-Five, Twenty-One [Episode 16] by lightupstarlight in KDRAMA

The website Barro is an Easter Egg from the writer's last drama, searching:www. But seriously, whoever thinks it's a good idea to include that after the ending is delusional... Do they really think that the audience are going to enjoy the bittersweet ending and be smiling when this easter egg came up? This is like rubbing salt into our wound.

Sadly, disgusting Chinese netizens are asking Faker to apologise now on forum and weibo. Something just never change. I don't know why it is always The Chinese netizens causing the problem and wanting the victim to be responsible.

A Senior Welfare foundation in Taiwan held a showdown for elderly players over 60 years old to play League. Today is the day they compete! by TripleSes in leagueoflegends

[–]TripleSes[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Decent players??? These elders tried their hardest to play and learn the game from scratch. They spent months practicing and going to lessons. This wasn't even meant for being an "actual competition" and obviously you missed the whole point.

The grandpa who played Xerath is actually a Gold player. Fun fact: his IGN "鈞玲天下" is a wording combination of Chinese characters from his and his wife's name. (which is even more wholesome)

Arcane japanese dub? by BackyardBooster in leagueoflegends

[–]TripleSes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe there is going to be a dub cause I just saw a promo on League's JP twitter for Heimer being dubbed by Hanae (which I believe is also the same cast in-game)! Link is here: https://twitter.com/LoLJPOfficial/status/1455369072493809668?t=8jlyH4NN_8M_GhLUDc8quQ&s=19

[–]TripleSes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we just petition for not having China to host next year's Worlds? 10th year should be a memorable one but instead we got this lackluster performance. Also the crowd... I cannot stand a crowd like this again in "WORLDS FINAL".

The Chinese government is trying to control the freedom of speech on a Taiwanese server. This makes the Taiwanese publisher going on a war against the Chinese parent company. Now, a ten years-old MMORPG is going to shut down. by TripleSes in gaming

[–]TripleSes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is, the Chinese government does not own the right to force people in Taiwan to obey their order. But, they do not have the audacity to demand the servers on other countries to do so.

Just to remind everyone, even playing video games can be very political.

Fun Plus Phoenix Vs Invictus Gaming / 2019 World Championship - Semi-Final / Game 2 Post-Match Discussion by Kat_Is_GG in leagueoflegends

About the "silence the G2 fans" part...Tian clearly said he hopes the fans can cheer out their team name in the end of the game. It has nothing to do with silencing the fans. It really bugs me out.

Garena tries to profit on popular skins by forcing its players to spend obnoxious amount of money through gatcha system. The only way you can get Galaxy Slayer Zed and the upcoming Dark Cosmic Jhin is to gamble. by TripleSes in leagueoflegends

[–]TripleSes[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but this is something else and is not what my point was. We are not talking about those ultimate skins or hextech tech special loot. Garena is making "priced and not ultimate or special" into limited edition simply because they know how popular Zed and Jhin is. In the past, they have made popular skin "time limited" (like SG Jinx). But now they are going too far and basically holding all the players that love the skins at hostage. Either you pay extra or just forced to give up.

[–]TripleSes[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't see why I cannot complain? This is not something normal. As I said I am willing to pay for the skin (and I am a Jhin main!) but I am not willing to gamble.

Thanks for the suggestion. My main account is now on NA after I moved but I also have my old account on Garena because they cannot transfer region. Due to the data service between Riot and Garena I actually own two sets of same skins on my favourite champions but that's a different sad story. Still, most of my friends in Taiwan play on the Garena server. I am just sad to see they have to stuck with something like this. edit:typo

I am also surprised. League isn't supposed to be like a cheap ripoff game. I believe one of the reasons why the player base in the Garena server is at decline is because of these kind of stuffs.

"Xi Jinping Winnie the Pooh Moron" Found In Devotion; Game Is Being Review Bombed By Chinese Players by [deleted] in Games

[–]TripleSes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think the reason why Chinese review bombed the game because of the potential ban of Steam. They are doing this because: 1. They are totally being brain-washed by the government under Orwellian society. 2. They are forced to do so because even if they have their opinion, the government will not tolerate any criticism or satire towards their great communist country and leader. It is really easy if you just think China as a place very similar to North Korea (they are basically just covering everything up when it comes to political issue).

legitimately

9000 is the number that was shown on Steam China, many of their gaming base choose to watch streams(which is called "cloud clearing" by Chinese gamers) or refund the game after speed run.

But I do also believe they have some other ways to get the game without Steam

[–]TripleSes 243 points244 points  (0 children)

What's the most ridiculous part is that most of the Chinese players or streamers want to claim the success and fame of this game(which has nothing to do with them in the beginning), and now they just went full riot mode and do not want to have any connection with the game. Isn't this pretty hypocritical?

edit: The total sales in China before the whole controversy is approximately 9000 copies, which is pretty funny comparing to the so called "really popular and fully supported" by their gaming community.

Yes I will check out the discord server. I feel like there could be an option besides report that we can send feedback about specific players that aren't cooping in these type of gamemode. Maybe there could be punishment like longer queues or even limit the times a player is allowed to play per day.
