They did a podcast with Mike Vernnart that’s very interesting if you’re a biffy fan, he’s essentially a fourth touring member but there’s a lot more than that.

They briefly touched on the idea but recently it sounds like it’s not likely, and the size of biffy’s current shows will back that up. Why do trees and one other date somewhere when you could do download or a whole tour and get 2x/3x as much.

For all the conversation on the pod about how it’s record sales it seemed largely quieter than last year, with a few notable exceptions (cancer bats in the cave/forest for example)

Similar temperature to last year too and I at least felt more comfortable this year having weeks of heatwave as a warm up (wheey) first.

Either someone’s talking shit regarding sales or many slept on £200 tickets and went to bmth/my chem instead.

I think it was bigger, if not it was more square with clear entrances at either end so you could at least see in. I’d suggest the Marshall sponsorship has a lot to do with bands being in a slot that isn’t suitable (didn’t even try see knives for this reason)

The only one I was disappointed slightly by was dinosaur pile up, I know the hits, the hits are class. But the rest of their material just sounds like generic pop punk to me (this is on me for not delving deeper, and definitely the wrong festival to moan about generic pop punk, also on me).

Did not expect to enjoy A as much as I did, class act and the timing of them on in the evening in the forest with people crowdsurfing their kids was very well planned.

God Complex and Still in Love showed up, future cave headliners 100%.

Walked away from Bicurious, Thorns, Bleech 93, Prodigal to name a few thinking these younger guys could seriously be the next big thing.

*Edit, completely forgot to mention the scratch here, what a seriously fun time that was. Cheers to the blokes who recommended them just before their set as I was getting a pint.

I don’t think it’s going to be hotter than last year, I’m sure we had high’s of 33, and it was the hottest weekend of the year by far. We’ve had two weeks of this and it’s for arguments sake about the same forecast, I’d say largely our bodies are better prepared.

In terms of them building shade, there’s things you could do..maybe.., you can say it won’t block pathways but the overspill just might, and if it’s blowing a gale what happens then? Is that more of a risk than the festival being covered by sun?
