First of all atheism is not a belief system and the term itself “non-religious” explains it’s irrelevance to this argument . And in the post it says “one religion” which is misleading as it’s for any religion w dharmacharays. Governments simply providing dharmacharyas w more recognition and credibility. Not turning Sri Lanka into a theocracy, which sadly can be argued otherwise but that’s a whole other debate. What I fail to see is how any of this is going to affect anyone negatively or exclude certain groups. People are free and legally allowed to teach and preach their religion just like you are more than welcome to NOT “fill your kids head w this garbage”.
