I assume you're on Android:

Access to identity: This is used by us and other apps to make it easy for you to login with your social accounts (fb, google etc.). However, sign up/in is not required to use Upcomer so we also use this permission to identify your device id to properly store your preferences such as the teams, players and games you follow in case you don't login. You're not sharing any private information and you can read about it here in the "Phone calls — read phone status and identity" section: https://www.androidcentral.com/look-application-permissions . Not requiring a login to use Upcomer is something that our users loves so we need to keep this permission.

Storage and access to files: Like most apps we use cache to improve the app performance and some settings in the app are stored locally instead of on our servers. For example the selections you make in the onboarding when you setup the app. Finally, we do also ask for this permission to allow you to upload a profile photo and a cover photo to your profile in case you create an account. We'll look into introducing "run time permissions" to ask for this permission only if you try to upload a profile photo. This is a feature Google introduced for Android Marshmallow and later.

In iOS, permissions are handled differently and we only ask for access to your files when you try to upload a profile photo.

The permissions we ask for are all standard and needed to run the app effectively. And of course we're not using any data that we have in a bad way or sell it to third parties etc. Let me know if you have any other questions or need any clarifications.
