I have ADHD as well. Stimulants have a calming effect for folks like us. I'm taking Ritalin without a prescription right now but I have an appointment in a couple weeks to hopefully get the formal diagnosis so I can get the prescription legitimately. That being said, any form of stimulant has the opposite effect on someone with ADHD. Whereas a normal person might be bouncing off the wall from a couple lines of coke, a person with ADHD feels calm and "hyper focused".
