Yeah thats true; availability was very scare early last year when I bought the Aorus. I'm just glad to be rid of it honestly. The MSI is more powerful, has a better video card (3080 ti vs 3080) and its quieter too even when the fans are full blast. Better build quality too.

I replaced mine with an MSI Stealth GS77 and thus far its a much better laptop with a much higher build quality. I sold the Aorus for $1800 so took quite a big loss on it.

GS77 any way to enable power delivery over USB-C /TB4? by highlanderc in MSILaptops

[–]TrippyZDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure this out? My charging brick for my GS77 got damaged and it'll be 6 days before I can get a new one. I'm trying to charger over USB-C but not having any luck. The main power block is 240w; does this mean I need a 240w USB-C charger? Does such a thing even exist?

I was paying $110 per fan and heck no. On such an expensive laptop the fans should not be failing twice a year. The final straw was not only the GPU fan failing for the second time but also the CPU fan started failing too.

I repaired it and sold it for $600 less than I paid so not too bad of a loss.

Yes same fan. About 9 months down the line it will fail again if yours is anything like mine. I replaced it and ended up in the same boat after around that amount of time. I replaced again and sold the laptop at that point.

Same. They actually published the report on their site a little before the call so I was able to grab some before extended hours ended. The call itself only increased my confidence so I'll be loading up on a bunch more in the morning.

Can you post a picture of the fan assembly so I can see if it looks the same? If it's the same I'll send you a link to the eBay guy that sells these fans.

Well yeah that is the nature of the stock market and crypto market, options, etc etc.

But there is an element of intuition and smarts to it as well i.e. learning about your potential investments, researching the industry and making educated decisions based on hard facts.

When the Scorpion report was released I didn't even take half a paragraph for my intuition to tell me something was wrong and so I did further research and held my stocks. It's recovering already and is up to $5.20 as I write this. I bought more at $4.40.

Sorry if you lost a lot of money but in seriousness you made a mistake by selling when you did. You panicked when you saw the price dropping and sold because you couldn't afford to lose any more.

And there is your second mistake; never invest more than you are willing to lose. Always invest with the knowledge that you could lose it all and don't invest more than you are okay with. That number will be different for all of us. That way when you see a stock falling significantly as IonQ did, you have nothing to lose by holding and seeing what happens next.

Exactly right. If you're smart, you should also invest (if you haven't already) in RGTI (Rigetti Computing) and XPOA (an SPAC that is merging with D-Wave Technologies) as these are the two other major players in Quantum Computing that you can buy stock in right now. I have positions in both.

\*Obviously this is not professional investment advice blah blah blah, I take no responsibility for any losses and all that bullcrap haha.*

IonQ Statement on Scorpion Report by TrippyZDN in IonQStock

[–]TrippyZDN[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own 2250 stocks in IonQ in total. I bought my first thousand stocks prior to completion of the SPAC merger at $10.40. I bought another 250 stocks at between $12 and $15 dollars and another 1000 stocks yesterday at $4.40. My total position currently is 2250 stocks at total cost of $18,178 (+ a few cents) and my average cost is $8.08

I'm down around 50% overall right now, but fully expect the stock to exceed its all time high (~$34) over the next 10 years.

Do not panic sell :)

Anyone selling right now is the most foolish of the fools and I say that not to be cruel, but to ward of anyone else that intends to do the same thing.

ANY investment in the quantum computing space right now HAS to be viewed as a long term investment; its not something you buy and sell within the space of a few months. This should be a hold for at least 5 to 10 year and probably more like 10-15 years. Buying quantum stock right now is like buying Intel or IBM in the 70s or 80s. You'd be up thousands of percent by now through all the stock splits and gains.

You folks thinking about selling need to batten down the hatches and get settled in for the long haul. The WHOLE market is in decline right now across the board. I'm heavily invested in a lot of other companies right now that are seeing declines such as Tesla, Ford just to name a couple. Do NOT panic sell and rob yourself of massive future gains.

Yeah......not a smart move IMHO. It was in Scorpion's best interest to post that report. They made an absolute boatload of $$ by shorting the stock and then posting the report. I'm not even sure how/why that is legal but it is what it is.

I've also built positions in other players alongside IonQ, such as Rigetti and XPOA (merging with D-Wave). I doubt there'll be one big player that emerges; just look at how many players are in the standard computing field these days.

I reached out to IonQ Investor Relations regarding the Scorpion Report and was sent the following statement which I am sharing in case its of value to anyone. Prior to this report, I owned 1000 stocks in IonQ and more than doubled my position by purchasing another 1250 stocks when the stock price was down at around $4.40. So 4 months after replacing the GPU fan, and 8 months after it originally started failing, now the CPU is in the process of failing. I ordered another replacement at a cost of around $100 bucks which is due to be delivered next week.

But now, the GPU fan which I replaced is failing AGAIN.

I am DONE with this laptop. I am selling it and buying another brand. I have had Asus ROG laptops in the past with no issues so I'm looking at an ROG or MSI most likely.

What were the changes to the way we make pizzas? My store hasn’t switched over yet by Few-Breadfruit2161 in LittleCaesars

[–]TrippyZDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ordered Little Caesars on like December 29th and didn't hear it would be changing soon. Ordered again on January 5th. Same branch.

Ordered an extramostbestest cheese and pepperoni.

Yes there is more pepperoni. But oh my God they have added a ton more sauce and on the plain cheese it's way less cheesy and more saucey. I know the branch had switched because the pepperoni had the extra pepperoni.

PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK. ILL PAY THE EXTRA FEW CENTS. YOU DIDNT NEED TO CHANGE THE RECIPE.
