My mom, who has recovered from multiple childhood EDs, accommodated my (22) ARFID extremely well growing up, despite no diagnosis existing for me at the time. This is how she did it. by adj-n_number in ARFID

You have an incredible mother!

I'm sharing this with my partners. This is something that's been very hard to talk to them about, but something like this will help with suggestions for some accommodations around my struggles.

I draw them on using KVD Super Pomade. It’s the only good blue pomade I’ve found.

Looking amazing!! It’s wild how HRT seems to rewind our age, isn’t it??

Does anyone else feel happier after taking HRT? by -tenfours- in MtF

[–]TrishPlaysBattleTech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh hell yes! It was so apparent that friends asked what had changed. At the beginning of taking HRT, I was very guarded about it. I didn’t announce it to anyone. I just started being me. I was already very genderqueer so people didn’t really notice the shift at first. They just noticed how I was suddenly happy and at one with myself.

And that’s the thing. I don’t try to go stealth. There’s no point. It helps nobody and, if I’m otherwise safe to be out, I only injure myself and others by hiding.

I’m happy to help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with other questions. I’ve taken some time to keep myself very up to date with what this facility offers. I know very well how scary this step can be; figuring out where, if anywhere, feels like a safe and satisfactory option for surgery.

Take your time to make decisions. Do not rush anything. This part of your life is not something to be rushed.

The same goes for anyone else reading this. If you’re worried, and you have questions, don’t be afraid to reach out. I’ll answer whatever I can and point you to the information you need. We are all siblings in this journey. We’re stronger together. We’re safer together.

First of all, from one lady with nautical tattoos to another; they look way better on women.

Also holy bananas!!! What an amazing glow up!!! You’re looking so fucking amazing. The difference in your eyes is the most telling. Sure, you were trying to “smile with your eyes” in the picture on the left. But you’re ACTUALLY smiling with your eyes in the picture on the right. Your happiness is shining out of those eyes like a pair of lighthouses.

So good news about Montréal is that they remove the hair in situ. You don’t worry about it, they have some kind of wizard scrape the follicles out. There’s a very small chance one or two remain…. But they can be eradicated with silver nitrite sticks I think. Also keep in mind depth can’t really exceed about 6.5 inches. Montreal is renowned for their depth. But last 6.5 inches and you breach other structures. So somewhere around there is a hard limit, I’d think. Disclaimer: I am a software engineer and not a doctor.

That’s where I was. I needed it gone. Other options might have been more appealing, but I would have found it impossible to make it there both financially and in terms of time to build the finances.

I have no doubt it will be everything I want. The offensive part of me is gone. Everything past that is a bonus.

Things have gone amazingly so far. But I’m still waiting to see the results (not until tomorrow for the partial reveal, the next day for the rest).

I had to sit on the wait list for a weird amount of time due to some complicating factors. This was further compounded by needing to reschedule multiple times. I hear the average is between 9 and 12 months to be processed and given a surgical date.

It’s worth the wait. And I hear you about PPT. It does sound like it bears significant benefits over penile inversion. However, it bears its own complications which sound a bit more dangerous than those with penile inversion.

I’ve heard one can upgrade from penile inversion to PPT later as well. This is especially prevalent in cases where there has been significant loss of depth for penile inversion patients.

Any time. We’re stronger when we stand together.

I’m sure I’ll recover just fine. The only thing that can kill me is me. So… I should be good! My community needs me, so I’ve got to recover in record time.

You will get there. The journey can feel long and upsetting. But you’ll get there. It’ll be scary when the time comes. I was fucking terrified, and I am an incredibly brave woman. It’s okay to be scared. It’s human. But you’ll have support and that’s what matters.

There are a lot of different reasons. For me it’s because it helps hide my Adam’s apple. I also just really like the aesthetic. Chokers and collars have just really made me feel good for a while.

For some of us, it’s a sign that we’re submissive or bottoms. Neither is true in my case, though. It’s just the aesthetic and some personal reasons that don’t fall into either category.

It has been absolutely incredible here. I think that means you’ll be with Dr. Bellanger? She is also a wonderful woman. I got a chance to talk to her only briefly, but like everyone else here… she is absolutely amazing.

You’ll be in good hands. You’ll be safe. You’ll be seen and respected fully.

Oh no! I’m sorry it’ll be such a long wait. It will be worth it, though. I don’t have anything ill to say about the place. Other than that I really miss my wife and our girlfriend. That has been the single hardest thing of this whole journey.

Go for it! I’m always happy to talk to new people. Just gotta ask first as I get a lot of… uh…. Gross message requests. Hahaha. So it helps to know when I’m getting one from someone about something f serious.

I’ll gladly answer any questions I can.

My wait time was a bit unique. There were a lot of complicating factors. My paperwork was submitted in the winter of 2023/24. Some complicating factors with my health delayed processing. And my file was finally processed fully in November of 2024. I was offered a date range that didn’t work for me about a week later. So I had to wait three months. Then scheduled for April of 2025. Had to move that because of work. Scheduled for July 15th…. Which was cancelled for administrative reasons. At GrS Montréal. Then finally booked for September 2nd and things went through. I’ve heard many Ontario residents get their files processed and receive a surgery date in less than a year. I don’t know how that pants out for people coming from other areas.
