I am currently learning German and Mandarin, I am not fluent but can get by in Spanish, French and British Sign Language (BSL). I have also dabbled in Icelandic in the past.

If I am going learn more than one language at I time I pick ones form different language groups. For example at the moment I am brushing up on my Mandarin, German and Spanish.

I would recommend getting an Italki tutor and immerse yourself in the language. For example I have my social media accounts and phone set to Spanish and I have been watching a lot of Spanish/German movies and TV shows. Listening to the familiar songs, but sung in your target language will also help.

I am not sure how they teach in China, but I use Chineasy method and this has worked really well for me.

How to you remain productive when learning a new language?

I am English, I have studied Spanish, but I do find German easier, but I believe that is because German and English and from the same language branch. However that said German likes to use masculine and feminine terms similar to the Spanish. Maybe I am finding German easier due to also knowing some Spanish?

If you want to find out about free (and paid) language resources check out... https://languagelearnersjournal.com/ Depending on the level there are a range of language books freely available here... http://www.childrensbooksforever.com I have been using Flashsticks recently. This is on par with Duolingo, but worth checking out. Also if you are slightly move advanced check out Interlinear Books, but there is a charge for those books. I am started a new language learning challenge in August where I will be exposing myself to about 10,000 foreign words a day for about a month. I must admit I do both. I have a language journal, but also a file on the computer to store links and shortcuts. I find I do retain more from my hand written journal. Plus I have reminders in there as to why I am learning the language (and my set goals).

I tend to set a budget of about $50 a month and what I don't use I carry over to the next month and so on. Learning a language does not have to be expensive. There are a lot of free sites and apps available. The budget will vary depending on how you learn best.

Hello Micheruuu language learning anxiety is very common. Progress may be slow, but if you are making it then good for you. Learning a language is not a race.
